This restaurant is in a great location, however the service and flexibility is appalling. I am vegan (14yrs) it is 2023. I would expect that there would be 1 option for me at least. The 1 choice, falafel burger, is served in a brioche bun with dairy mayo and slaw. Then I was told that the chips were not suitable. So our friends paid £15 for a burger served on a lettuce leaf and tomato slice with a bowl of new potatoes. No extra salad or anything was added. I am livid that I was made to feel like a leper because of my life choices. I didn’t cause a problem by complaining as we were with friends and it was their venue choice. There was no dairy free option for dessert either, not one. The attitude from the staff was ‘stand off ish’ and I was treated as an inconvenience. Fortunately, I took my own Mayo and coleslaw to add some interest to my meal. I’m just sorry that this restaurant has the monopoly on the seafront. Their cafe is just as bad. No alternative milk options available or food options available for me. Apparently, not even the chips! A walk down to the Bayside cafe is recommended as they do cater for people ‘like me’ . The staff at Bayside are friendly and accommodating. It’s definitely worth popping down there.

It was a stormy day , we just drove by, parked up got a table no problem by the window ! The waitress was soo welcoming. excellent service all round most efficient with our order too. We chose chicken goujons salad chips the other was a starter with prawn shrimp Marie Rose mayo a salad garlic bread ! Both very generous helpings the pudding was the lemon meringue pie with vanilla ice cream again a very generous helping ! Two coffees glasses of water without even asking for the lattter … our go to always when visiting this area we will be back again soon!

1. Staff holding top of glass to serve. Unhygienic. Hold glasses by the bottom. 2. Litter on floor. Waiters didn't bother to pick detritus up. 3. Sachets of sauce? This is a restaurant. Put sauce in bottles. 4. Frozen chips. Paying a small fortune to eat frozen chips? So lazy. 5. Waiting staff standing round the bar, not paying attention to customers. Had to go in twice to get their attention. 6. Poor range of beers. No IPAs. No effort. 7. No one came to check to see if our food was okay.

We were down in Portsmouth and checked on local eatery's This place came up, and what a gem. Right by the beach front and classic fish menu. Gets very busy, but service was excellent and the food was excellent. It's not a cheap place to eat, however, it is good value for money. The staff were brilliant and I would recommend a visit. We will be going back soon
