I was staying at the Welcome Hotel just over the road. Whilst the weather was horrible (snow, wind and very cold I didn't fancy walking far, so discovered this place just over the road. It was packed (and we subsequently found out that booking is...a pretty much essential practice here), but there were a couple of spaces at the bar, so we took our seats at the bar, sampled some great local beers and grabbed some food. so glad that we stumbled this beautiful hunt on our last night in the city. it felt like a local hangout from the beginning, with a lively atmosphere, friendly/knowing/welcoming wait staff. eating was amazing, and the portions were very large and quite full; a great. for her money. When we finally made it to this neighborhood gem (long walk I was THRILLED to see the menu and LOVED my meal. Completely delicious food. Great atmosphere. Really friendly staff. We had a stunning evening. It was loud, people were chatty and the staff even introduced us to people with a similar background which was rather charming. Sums up Bamberg!
