Pena Flamenca El Palmito

I recently dined at El Palmito in Cabo de Gata and had an extremely disappointing experience, largely due to the poor customer service provided by our waitress. First, despite booking an outdoor table, we were seated inside. While this wasn 't a significant issue, the problems only escalated from there. To start, they placed olives on our table, and since we had a toddler with us, we politely asked if they had any without stones. The waitress curtly replied with a simple no. Later, to our surprise, our salad arrived with decorative stoneless olives . When we ordered tapas and requested to keep the menu for reference, the waitress was shockingly rude and impatient. She argued that there wouldn 't be space for the food if we kept the menu. We insisted, as we hadn’t decided on our next dish and she walked away visibly irritated. Our attempts to call her to place our order were met with an abrupt response: I 'm working. To add to the frustration, we inquired about the fish fritter, and she claimed it contained calamari and cuttlefish, which suited our toddler who couldn 't eat fish with bones. However, the fritter arrived with neither of these ingredients. When we requested calamari separately, she begrudgingly brought it, and ironically stated it was especially made for us. Things took an even worse turn when we asked about the mixed croquetas and if we could choose among them. She exploded in anger, coming uncomfortably close to us, shouting that we couldn 't change the menu. This created a scene in the restaurant and embarrassed us in front of other diners. It appeared that any request, whether standard or not, was met with hostility from our waitress. Although a chef later apologized for her behavior, she continued to display rudeness throughout the meal. This was a dreadful experience in what was appeared to be a top-notch restaurant with quality service.

Excellent seafood. We were lucky to get seating on a Sunday afternoon, seems like a favorite with the locals. If you want Paella, you have to reserve it. We had a mix of grilled fish-seafood for 2–was the best ever and we live in Southern Spain.

It’s been really fantastic experience about sea food and the waiter the behavior excellent and they have always advice that menu half porción is Ok for testing so for us went to good place and familiar as well

La comida era excelente, el personal era profesional y servicial. El lugar tiene sombra del sol y mucho espacio para sentarse y ver el mar.

What a unique experience. Small intimate cave restaurant. Lovely food followed by amazing powerful emotive flamenco.
