Positive aspects: The waitstaff was friendly and helpful, the service was quick, and the portions of hot food were generous. The restaurant was clean. The veggie burger, though served on a sweet brioche bun, was decent without being overly spiced. The lasagne was disappointing, resembling more of a beef pie with pasta casing rather than traditional lasagne. The homemade dish was topped with a heap of rocket, which seemed out of place. The cheesecake was store bought and had a soggy bottom. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and I do not plan on returning. The bartender also seemed unenthusiastic about their job.
we had meals in the barn during the stay in pengarreg caravan park. the food was excellent. there were five of us and we chose ourselves differently than the menu; each meal was of very high quality. the food was very well cooked and presented and the portions make desserts a difficult choice. the waiting staff was friendly and attentive. the chef, eric, came to ask for feedback, and it is clear that he is great proud of how he runs the restaurant. the newly appointed barmanager ross was also efficient and keeps the beer on a high standard. a real gem that can be very recommended.
Lovely building, spacious and clean. Good menu, we ate garlic mushrooms and gammon and chips, good service and tasty, well cooked food. BUT the evening was spoiled for us by a group of VERY loud males who spent the whole time we were there ‘talking’ so loudly they were practically shouting, interspersed with lots of ‘f’ words, we really couldn’t hear each other speak and it got very wearing. We didn’t bother to stay for dessert, just wanted to get out for some peace. Such a shame as it’s a lovely venue.
Sunday lunch was excellent, large portions, well cooked, served hot. Chef generously accommodated specific diet and came out to check all was well, it was spot on, potatoes couldn’t have been better. Outstanding Yorkshires, superb cauliflower cheese, lovely veg and lashings of gravy. Sorry we didn’t have room for dessert…

Possibly one of the greatest Sunday lunches I have experienced. The beef fell apart, the cauliflower cheese was delicious, the whole plate was divine. Then came the toffee pudding! The whole experience was excellent, great staff, dog friendly with 2 pups in tow. I would certainly call back here for Sunday lunch again
First meal here and impromptu birthday dinner. WOW. Left feeling fat fat fat! Our food was outstanding. Excellent flavours and service, even when they found out it was my birthday I had a candle in my pudding and the staff came out from the kitchen to pass on their wishes. Thank you. Already booked to come back
Went for Sunday Lunch whilst staying at nearby campsite. Tasty great portion at a good price. Turkey, beef, roasters, mash, massive yorkie, stuffing, carrots, beans, peas, parsnips, cauliflower cheese and gravy. Great service. Full up.
My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff provided great service. We also appreciated that the restaurant is dog friendly. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had to wait a long time for our food to be served. The chicken was overcooked and dry, and the sauce was bland. Overall, we left the restaurant feeling disappointed and £50 poorer.
Very good atmosphere good choice of ale. The food is always of a good standard and the chef will come and chat with you after your meal. I would recommend this restaurant.
