Penny Farthing - Reserva de mesa

The Penny Farthing Pub is a traditional British Pub situated not too far from the main train station, easily found as you make your way from the station into the city. First pub of the day, a short walk from the train station where I got my train from Basel to Aarau which only took me about 30 minutes or so. Thought it was closed as the doors looked slammed shut, but joy they were open. Early about 12. or so, but still a few other souls in the bar. The bar has a good selection of beers from the UK and Ireland, and some interesting Scottish whiskies as well. Ordered a Brooklyn Brewery lager, a first timer for me, which was on tap, and poured by a friendly bar lady. Pint looked good but wasn’t...

Wenn Du ein tolles originales irisches Ambiente eines echten Pubs willst, bist DU hier richtig. Einen Punkt Abzug hats für die teuren Preise gegeben (5 dl Bier zwischen 7 und 9 CHF). Ansonsten ist die Bedienung freundlich und es herrscht eine echte Duz-Kultur - SUPER!

Das Pub ist in Aarau zwar Kult aber ich frage mich immer wieder wiso. Ein Heruntergekommenes altes Pub welches seine besten Tage längst hinter sich hat. Man müsste dringenst investieren. Aber für die Aarauer Hooliganszene reicht es wohl immer noch aus.

Sorry aber wilkommen fühlt man sich hier nicht. Die Crew (ein älterer Herr, mutmasslich der Chef) gibt sich keine Mühe und gibt einem nicht das Gefühl wikommen zu sein.Sorry mein erster und letzter Besuch dieses Pub... Reserva una mesa ahora

Unfortunately, service and friendliness have declined significantly. It's a shame because I've been a regular guest every Sunday and Monday! Looking for alternatives now

Very large selection of beer. The food is recommended. Fish chips and the burgers are excellent. They also have the best fries in town.

We went there for Burgers during Lunch and it was great. The food was goo, atmosphere like in a real pub and the service great!

The penny reminds me of home, it's so great to have a pint with the local ex-Pats had a few great nights!!
