Penumbra Restaurant & Wine Bar

This is such a great addition to Logan Square! Unassuming decor and space, the front is the cozy loungey bar area then you walk through a threshold and enter the dining room. The food was absolutely delicious (my daughter had the steak and I had the chicken with herb goat cheese cream), the drinks (coconut mojito and caipirinha) were very tasty and well balanced mixed, the flan was also delicious (a bit of a butterscotch flavor to it). And prices are neighborhood friendly reasonable. Can't wait to go back!

We went to Penumbra for the first time with another couple. We had read the outstanding reviews but were still concerned that we would be disappointed. The food surpassed our expectations- everything was delicious and we were delighted at the price point. We are frequent diners in the river north and Randolph street area and are not easily impressed but Penumbra hit the mark. Our friends were equally impressed. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful neighborhood place with a cozy bar and lush dining room. Gardined nooks make it ideal for a date night. While the lighting was low, we thought it made us more attractive and they delivered flashlights to read the menu. It was easy to have a nice conversation because it wasn't very loud. The food was good and cheap. The cocktails were excellent.

Great service and the food was delicious. All dishes were well seasoned and tasteful. The hostess made great recommendations regarding food and wine to supplement certain dishes. The interior is also very unique with private cabanas for more intimacy when it comes to an important other.

Had a nice evening. The food was all delicious and the service was great. Everyone who worked there was very nice and attentive. We will definitely be back. A charming neighborhood restaurant.
