Above all, excellent foods as a whole. I traveled through New Rochelle and saw this Halal place on Google Maps. I stepped and was greeted by the bride at the counter, very pleasant man and very cool soul music. My from Brooklyn, like an hour to 1 1/2 away from home, so I ordered more food so I could really taste and evaluate this place. I ordered the Moroccan style lamb Gyro (5/5, the NY Style Buffalo Shrimp (3/5 with frits (4/5 together with Tarter Sauce and Coleslaw). I finished this with her famous Mac n cheese (3/5 and her signature Fruit Punch (5/5). Overall, the lamb gyro and fruit stamp were amazing. Yummmm! I’m not usually one for fried fish/shrimp and soul food, but I was having a rough day and needed something deep fried. This food was soo satisfying! Hubby and I tried the Thai shrimp, Buffalo shrimp, fried fish, yams, mustard greens and Mac and cheese (yeah we went in! . The fish was phenomenal, crisp, flavorful but not really greasy. Both shrimps were good, but I preferred the Thai. The Buffalo shrimp had more heat than flavor…. And no blue cheese dressing?!? The greens were excellent. I LOVED the Mac and cheese. I absolutely love this place! I have tried many items from the menu and have never been disappointed. The buffalo wings and Thai shrimp are delicious, as well as the fried chicken and mac n cheese. Every dessert the chef makes is also fantastic! During one visit, while waiting for my food, the owner and chef offered us some macaroni salad to try, which was also delicious. I am willing to go out of my way to pick up food from Pepe's, and I recommend them to everyone I know. Not only is the food always amazing, but every staff member is friendly and delightful. I hope they continue to thrive for a long time.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by Pepe himself and engaged in friendly conversation with his excellent staff. The establishment was spotless and inviting, with top-notch customer service that made me feel right at home. I ordered a mac and cheese dish, the name of which escapes me, but with just one bite I was blown away by the incredible burst of flavor. It was pure bliss, and I couldn't resist sharing it with my family, who had the same ecstatic reaction. I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem that I never knew was so close to me. I decided to try this restaurant based on positive reviews and the fact that they serve Halal food (which was confirmed by the staff). Overall, the food was delicious, especially the NY Buffalo Shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the shrimp was, as I had never tried it before. The Mac and Cheese and Yams were also delicious, though the portion sizes were just average. The staff member working behind the counter was very friendly and made my dining experience enjoyable. I would definitely return for more delicious food.

I visited Pepes at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021, during a time when many restaurants were struggling to stay open. Whenever I want to indulge, I always go for the Thai Chili Shrimp dish - it's absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. The customer service is friendly and the food is consistently good!

So delicious, try the fried fish, buffalo shrimp, and mac and cheese. The homemade fruit punch is the best I've ever had. Not a huge selection but it's not necessary because everything is so good. Great service: thorough and helpful. Only a few stools to sit on, it really is a storefront restaurant.

The pungent fish and homemade tartaric acid sauce are pure perfection! The Mac and the cheese would be too salty.
