We stay in Le Touquet about twice a year and each time we eat at Le Perard on the Saturday night and book in advance. We return to this restaurant because the food and atmosphere are excellent. When we arrived, we were offered to sit either in the main restaurant or the new conservatory. We thought we would try out the conservatory. I feel this is where we might have made the mistake. Although bright, airy and very well designed, this is where the pleasure ended. We did not appear to have any assigned waiter/waitress for the table - it was all pretty random and quite poor. We ordered some wine and champagne and were left to pour it/ refill the glasses which is not a big deal but this has always been a nice touch in the past. The langoustine soup was very good as was the smoked salmon. The 4 of us ordered the langoustine with mayonnaise for main course. They arrived on a platter and looked great. Unfortunately, most of them were mushy and so when we tried to peel them, they pretty much disintegrated in our hands. By the time we finished, we were pretty fed up and didn't stay for coffee or dessert. We were wondering whether the experience would have been different had we been seated in the main restaurant - at least from a service perspective. We will put this down to a one off and will certainly go back. If it is the same on the next occasion, we will not return which will be a great shame as we have always looked forward to dinner here.

Went to Perard to celebrate my birthday, with my family. We had great expectations but sadly I would never go back. We make an effort to thank people in their tongue and we do speak 3 foreign languages, but sadly not French. We were told off by the manager for not ordering in French (he was serious). Then the wine was off, only the second time this has ever happened in my lifetime. It was musty and smelt bad, and the cork broke on opening the bottle, the manager never came to the table to apologize. Then my dearest friend was served a piece of fish, which I can only describe as rubbery. This piece of fish was 55€ alone and it was sent back. My friend then ate alone and after everyone else because we had all finished. The manager was poor in his dealings with my family. His arrogance and lack of engagement or kindness made my experience of the Perard a real disappointment. We declined desserts. At this point the bill amounted to 300€. We had planned to have deserts and cheese and drink champagne and enjoy after dinner aperitif. We did not feel welcome.

A lovely place sadly let down by poor customer service. Criticised for not speaking French and made to feel guilty for turning away a badly corked bottle of wine. One plate of fish was poorly cocked, the other five were fine. Not the experience it should have been. They haven't got a clue how to look after you, unless your local of course. Will not go back.

We waited over an hour for our main course and when it came up it was absolutely awful. The fish was overlooked and the vegetables were dry and tasted as if they had benn kept hot in the microwave. We had booked this a month in advance and should have been the best restaurant on our trip. As it turned out it was by far the worst. Would never go back.
