Step back into an era when dining was a refined experience, characterized by exquisite food, simple menus, dedicated service, and payment options limited to cash or house credit. That’s the essence of Peter Luger’s, New York's premier steakhouse since the 1800s. This review focuses on their Great Neck location, which I have visited at least three times in the past year. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, complemented by a concise menu. You simply choose your steak (for one, two, three—you get the idea) along with your desired sides, enjoy your meal, and then order dessert. This restaurant boasts the best wedge salad in the United States, along with piping hot golden fries and excellent...

I came here with my boyfriend for lunch on a weekday. The place was pretty empty so we were able to walk in without a reservation. The interior decor feels very traditional and old world American. It's fairly quiet inside and the waitstaff are dressed in suits. We ordered the steak for two with a side of bacon and creamed spinach. You are served complimentwrt breads with butter after you order. The breads were mediocre and the butter was your standard wrapped single serve butter you might find at a diner. The bacon is a plate of two thick slices of bacon which were pretty good but the creamed spinach was nothing special. The steak for two was the highlight of our meal and smelled heavenly wh...

This is my family's favorite restaurant, and we’re lucky to live nearby, allowing us to visit frequently. Most of our experiences have been fantastic, although there have been a few instances where the food didn't fully meet our expectations. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Our typical order includes the perfectly charred bacon and the Caesar salad, which is one of my favorites. After that, we usually opt for the porterhouse, accompanied by German potatoes and creamed spinach. We always conclude our meal on a high note with the Holy Cow dessert. Today's experience was delightful, and I hope everyone gets to enjoy it as much as we do!

We had to wait about at least 20+ minutes if not more to get our table for a 8:45 reservation. We were seated with no menus. After a while someone at the table had to flag down a server to ask for menus. It took our server about 10-15 minutes to come to our table. There’s not a lot of options when it comes to sides like other steakhouses. Two porterhouses were ordere , both medium well. But one of the porterhouse steak came out medium rear. It had to be sent back to cook longer. Tasting was just ok…nothing great. Drinks was alright. I would say that the place was packed and maybe we just went on an off night. Reserva una mesa ahora

We were welcomed warmly by the servers, who provided professional service throughout our meal. Unfortunately, my experience with the parking attendant was quite different. He took my parking ticket and $3 from me, then parked my car on the street before exiting it. I thanked him, but he didn't respond or even make eye contact. He simply left the parking ticket on my windshield. Was he upset that the $3 tip wasn’t sufficient? I have never encountered such an unhappy parking attendant before. Overall, I would rate the food a 5 and the service a 3.

Come for lunch, they always have availability during those hours. This place is supposedly the better one compared to Brooklyn, they're nicer with better service so I've heard. Our server was very nice. But personally, I liked everything but the steak was mid. Burger 10/10 Lamb chops 10/10 bacon 10/10 Caesar salad 10/10 mousse cake 10/10 Steak for four 7/10 Once u had more seasoned steak, and smoked steak, you won't find this steak that great. It's okay, just a plain, expensive, steak. I would try other steak houses in the city next time.

This is one of my three favorite steakhouses on Long Island. After cycling 55 miles, I came here with a group of seven. We waited about 10 minutes for a large table. We opened a bottle of Luger's private label Cabernet Sauvignon at the bar, which was smooth and full-bodied. The 2015 vintage was outstanding, so we decided to order a second bottle. I definitely need to take home a case!

What can I say. The best steakhouse in NY. Table for 3 had steak for 3, onions and tomatoes, bacon, broccoli, creamed spinach, German potatoes and onion strings. Everything was magnificent Reserva una mesa ahora

The steak was incredibly amazing. It felt like a truly special meal. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant at least once a year for a special occasion.
