Petinos Restaurant Dollard Des Ormeaux

Went there this past weekend after not patronizing Pettinos for about 2 years and now I’m asking myself why! I always enjoyed their food and service but with all the other new places springing up in the area, Pettinos got lost in the shuffle. So...happy we chose to visit it again. Even though it was Fathers Day we got seated fairly quickly after about a 10 minute wait. Coffee arrived at the table pretty fast as did our orders. I had the asparagus omelet with cheddar cheese which was huge but light and fluffy and loaded with asparagus. The accompanying homefries were to die for. I loved the little bowl of fruit salad that came with it. Coffee was excellent and our waitress was very attentive....

We were feeling hungry on the West Island of Montreal in the morning. Having already visited two other locations and enjoying them, we decided to try Petinos for breakfast. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a warm welcome and promptly served coffee and drinks. Within a couple of minutes, our orders were taken. The restaurant was about 60 to 70% full, giving it a lively atmosphere. Our orders arrived shortly after, ranging from eggs and bacon to plates of fruit and cottage cheese, as well as bagels and waffles. My wife and I both loved our dishes. It was all just “mediocre”. My husband ordered the western sandwich. They literally put a thin, wimpy omelette in between two slices of toast. No butter, no mayo, no tomato, no seasoning. I had bacon and eggs which really can’t be screwed up, but the...coffee was bad! And for a breakfast place to not use a good coffee bean for their coffee is a bad sign right off the bat... Skip it. There are tons of other places on the West Island that put effort into having a breakfast that was prepared by someone other than you;

We were seated quickly during a off-peak hour and the server promptly brought us fresh coffee and took our orders. Our family enjoyed brunch with eggs Benedict, French toast with bacon and fruit, and scrambled eggs with ham... and sausage. All the dishes were served hot and tasty. The coffee was also delicious and the service was excellent. We would definitely return again.

Very good breakfast brunch fare. Very good prices and many choices. Not easy to find but once found likely to back and try another dish.
