Horrible customer service at this restaurant! After I received my order and sat down, I went back to the window to ask for salsa and the employee said to me Me: can I have some salsa please? Him: for what!? Me:umm for my food Him: what did u order? Me:a sope Him:it already has salsa! Me:ok...but I want more salsa for my chips and sope Him: That 's going to be extra! I'll start by saying that this restaurant is really charming and perfectly located near the beach in Newport, reminiscent of places like Shake Shack. At $5 per taco, it's definitely fitting for a beachside setting. The customer service at the ordering window was excellent; the young man who helped me was very friendly and attentive. I ordered carne asada tacos and received two, which were topped with cilantro and onion. I noticed they offered pickled veggies, so I asked for a side of those. Although my tacos didn't originally include them—a fact they kindly made clear when I inquired—I really think they should! Love this place the glowing cozy backyard picnic space, the cheap beer, and their fish tacos are the best in the area. Fresh, super crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside, with a tangy spice slaw and sauce. So good! The Street Corn is a perennial fave for me. The other taco joints in the area are chain y or bland. No, these are not street tacos, for that we tend to hit the folks on the corner of Foothill and Towne, but these are heftier and seriously delicious. Found this little gem because I was craving tacos and it was totally worth it. Definitely a hole in the wall location. Food 4.5/5 I ordered a cactus taco, a birria taco, pozole and a horchata. Everything was so flavorful!! Exactly what you expect it to be. Price the price point was pretty good for all the food we got. It doesn't break your wallet. Service 5/5 they were so quick and kind. Ambience 4/5 there's patio seating which is really nice and intimate or lively depending on the crowd. I came here during lunch one day with some co-workers and was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the location was. I decided to get some tacos and chips and dips. You park and order at a small window, the same spot where the food is being prepared. The food did take a while to get, but that is probably due to the lunch crowd. The food was amazing and tasted great and it was large quantities of meat in the tacos. There was only outdoor seating from what I can see, I might be wrong about that.
Recent reviews suggest that this place is experiencing a decline in how customers are treated. I never had issues during my past visits, but today it was closed despite the posted hours indicating it should be open at 8 AM. I’m going to steer clear of this place from now on, even if they update their business hours.
