Housed within the Springfield Lodge, Petrel Kitchen (known as Petrol Kitchen on Google Maps) is a cozy cafe and bar in Potts Point which offers a series of Spanish and Moroccan influenced brunches and tapas. The cafe and bar features a special tiny outdoor alfresco dining area with a ubiquitous European quaint I got myself a flat white and Spanish chorizo omelette for my breakfast last weekend. On the one hand, the flat white was served scorching hot and tasted more milky and latte than espresso. On the other hand, the omelette was delicious and tasty but oozes chunks of oil in every bite.

Although it looks so good on paper and was supported by good to very good reviews, petrel kitchen could not deliver. the feeling that I get is that the menu does not quite know what it wants to do with itself, and so instead of aligning to some that really mean business, offers on a smorgasbord of mediocrity. the service was also average, with someone who asks us whether we were willing to order within minutes before we completely leave for the rest of the meal. I should have let my bauchfeeling go behind the menu, that the optimism is damned.
beautiful ambiente on a classic terrace attached to the hotel, very sunny and green with cute white columns. underoccupied, the speed of the service fell, as the number of guests increased. I had the baked eggs with mushroom and salmon (see photo). presentation and taste were very traditional. well made, satisfying, but nothing standout or unique. size of portions on the small side, which slightly disturbed me, since the prices on the high side are for the baked eggs). most guests in this caffe seemed to be from the connected hotel.
We stumbled across this place as it was right outside the accommodation we were staying at. The food was delicious! I had a Wild Boar salad (with hummus, avo, cucumber, dried beetroot, tomato) and my husband had the pulled pork toastie. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were also nice. We were quite confused as to what the restaurant is actually called though, as the signs referenced Petrel whereas menu items and location services referenced Petrol Whatever it's called, go have a try! Lovely, leafy restaurant located outside the Springfield Lodge on a quiet block of Potts Point, diagonally across the road from Harris Farm There's an extensive breakfast menu which saw me reverting to that old faithful, Eggs Benedict but with chorizo instead of the typical ham or smoked salmon. A delicious dish nicely complemented by a pot of ginger, hibiscus and lemongrass tea.
Second visit, first review. Absolutely loved the food, was great! We loved the porridge, muesli, breakfast sandwich, omelette and baked eggs. All of us very happy with our choices, no complaints at all! Excellent service, with staff that remembered us from visiting a few days prior, even remembered our previous orders!
Super cute, great vibe and friendly staff. Surprised that this cafe wasn't busier as it is one of the best I've been to lately. I ordered the Madhatter salmon, eggs, seeded rye and avo all my favourites! My friend chose the chorizo omelette also amazing. Food and coffee on point. Highly recommend!
leave my brunch time here with their popular porridge and baked chorizo paella. eating is amazing. the ambiente is so great. the beverages I ordered the blue spirulina latte and small red reit kapuze juice, made from rooted, ingwer, etc. must try here Reserva una mesa ahora
A lovely eastern suburb cafe to have some all-day breakfast. The price is on the high side but the dining environment is very pleasant The poached egg or the pulled pork sandwich is a good start to the day.

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
