Located amongst a series of non-descript restaurants and bistros near St Joseph's Oratory on non-descript Cotes-des-Niege, Pho 198 is an ok place to grab a decent bowl of pho or other Vietnamese offerings. Steady stream of locals, generous portions, good price point. Ambience is cheap diner, but staff is friendly and efficient, making recommendations depending on what is available. Basic wine and beer options, but that's all you need here. When our orders arrived, they were not quite what we'd asked for, but it was late, we were starved, and what showed up was still pretty good. No leftovers, and we did not leave hungry.

I used to frequent Pho 198, located on Cote-des-Neiges, just a block away from my office. Their grilled chicken soup was a weekly favorite of mine and always fantastic. They had a variety of other delicious meals as well. Unfortunately, they have since closed down, which is a great loss for me.
