I drove pass this restaurant several times and didn’t think much of it. My wife and I walked around the area last weekend and I was drawn to the place because I saw the arcade machine sitting in the corner. We weren’t expecting much from this restaurant when entering it thinking that it’s another run of the mill “Vietnamese cuisine”.In the last five years, Edmonton has seen a surge in Vietnamese cuisine restaurants that made claims of being the best. I tried a lot of them and was disappointed by their failure to deliver on quality, taste, and value – Pho Boy is NOT one of these failures. Checked this place out because we had a groupon. We got in, no greeting. No idea if it was seat yourself. Had to ask twice. However, they were friendly and seated us pretty quickly after us asking. They seemed understaffed.We got the Legend Rolls, Banh Khot and green onion cake. You can't find legend rolls anywhere else in Edmonton. My sister, who has been to Vietnam said the Legend Rolls tasted exactly like authentic Vietnamese rolls, plating was also similar style to Vietnam. We also shared the Dragon pho and hero vermicelli. If you are looking for a very authentic Vietnemese pho with a bit of a unique twist this is the place to be. This is a cozy stop with relaxed decor (including a street fighter arcade machine), making it a great lunch/dinner stop to hang with friends. The food is delicious. Loved the spring rolls. Have not had a spring roll in Edmonton like it. Likewise the dragon special (beef steak, flank, meat ball, tendon) soup was fantastic with all the typical sauces (hoison, sri-racha). I go to a LOT of Vietnamese restaurants, but Pho Boy is definitely one of my favourites due to it's friendly atmosphere, delicious appetizers (that I can't seem to find anywhere else in the city), amazing broth and customizable pho options. Their vermicelli bowls have quickly become some of my favourites as well. Some dishes I would recommend highly: the banh khot, legend roll vermicelli bowl, dragon pho special, and red bean cake dessert. They also have an assortment of fun Asian drinks that are refreshingly yummy for when you're craving something sweeter. Great staff, great restaurant. Pho Boy restaurant is family owned and has some of the best Vietnamese home cooking in Edmonton. The broth is extremely tasty with the right balance of garnishes and meats of your choosing. They have great appetizers with my favorite being the rice popper. The service is also very good and fast. The decor is simple yet has some nice touches including a small table area for kids to play, a fun pinball machine and a TV in case there is a good hockey game. Very relaxed atmosphere. And finally, the price is extremely reasonable. All in all, a 10/10 and we will definitely keep coming back.

My sister and I stumbled upon this place one afternoon while walking down Whyte Ave. It was such a great find! The service was awesome, our server was there just enough, but not hovering at all. The food was fantastic! We had the Banh Khot as an appetizer and they were so delicious, I could probably eat 10 of them. Then we each had vermicelli bowls, the legend and heroes feast ones. I cannot wait to go back. Totally try this place out if you are in the area!

Some of the best Pho in Edmonton. Both their Pho and vermicelli are fantastic, and their spring rolls, or legend rolls as they call them, and literally the best I've had. They are unlike any other spring rolls I've every had, they weirded me out when they first arrived as they really are quite different, however one bite and I was addicted.

Honestly speaking, some of the most authentic pho in this city. The broth they offer is on point, not watered down or poorly made. While having a small menu, each item is made with care and taken care of nicely, it's a great experience especially with the arcade machine. Try the spring rolls, and the soup with ox tail! Awesome food with a great vibe inside. Good chill music. Fast and friendly service.I really like how they have a vegan pho option, for the days I need a hot noodle soup but need to keep it light. The vegan satay broth is amazing.

Most Vietnamese restaurants I have been don't come close to how tasty the pho is here. I was never a big pho fan till now. I would definitely come back again soon.
