Piccanti, Cafe, Pizzeria, Bar Restaurant

Yesterday I've visited my parents for the first time in their new home town Luneburg. We decided to have our lunch in Piccanti. It's a lovely place with modern decoration, friendly staff and good basic food. With basic I mean pizza, burger and unpretentious salads...nothing...fancy, no elegant presentation, but just good tasting food. I personally found the portion sizes the quality of food with it's competitive prices refreshing. But I'm from London... I have no idea how the experience would have been if I'd been purely English speaking (as I could communicate in German with the staff...I'm German). Luneburg is a rather small town and I suspect that the English may be there, but very broken...

The restaurant was almost empty tables in use with all but us and one other not yet eating), still we waited far too long until the waitress arrived at our table. Coffee and cake was served rather quickly but we almost had given up...on the pancakes, which arrived after all had finished their cakes and coffees. Tiramisu was small in size but rather expensive. Pancakes were thin like a Crêpe and cool and also too expensive. Coffee and hot chocolate were ok. Not impressed by the service or food. Will not come back.

Stopped for a Quick lunch. My wife had the tunasalad and she was very happy with it. Sure a tuna salad from the can is not hard to make, same all over the World I would say. I had Italian Bruschetta which was with tomatoes...and mozzarella. In came psc of bread with sure lots of tomatoes and a few pcs of cheese which I would hardly not call mozzarella but I was in Germany so they are excused! A cup of weak coffee was also beside me after the lunch. Location was perfect for people watching but not for eating.

As I said we have returned to this restaurant and this time the experience was not very good. My food and the food for shareing was delivered very quick but the rest of the people had to wait, I would say too much. We we...finished I had to look for the weiter to order the bill after wait for seeing staff close to our table. We ordered cola zero and they had it, of course but that size is not acceptable for a restaurant. Conclusion, we won't back, sorry.

Unfortunately we did not get to the point of ordering food because of the very unpolite, unservice-minded and very rude waitress that happened to work at Piccanti that evening. We left immediately after being rudely spoken to because we do not understand germain. Fortunately we...found a very nice, genuine Italien restaurant, just down the road, with extremely serviceminded staff! I would not recommend Piccanti to anyone.

[ESP] Fui una primera vez con unos amigos y la hamburguesa estaba bien, pero la segunda vez que fuimos pedí pasta y la verdad es que no me gustó mucho. No está a la altura de un buen italiano. [ENG] I went here with some...friends a first time and the hamburger was quite decent, but the second time I ordered pasta and I didn’t like it. It is not up to scratch with a good Italian restaurant.

Shockingly good- my husband ordered a mega pizza that was longer than his whole arm and i loved the seasonal salad— a bed of mixed salad with sautéed mushrooms, small pieces of bacon, tomato, cucumber, and homemade herbal dressing. The apple strudel with icecream was...delicious. The waffle with icecream was slightly too sweet. English speaking staff and dog friendly.

I had an Italian burger with potatoes. The burger was a bun from the supermarket with a fillet of chicken. It tasted OK, but far from full after eating it. I paid the for potatoes as a side, it got three slices of potatoes......Was a bit shocked at that. The service was also show, although the waiter was nice. I would avoid this restaurant.

Directly at am Sande the team serves house made pizza dough, pesto, sausages and dressings. Pasta dishes are cooked in a WOK and fish and meat comes from the grill. Nice Mediterranean Ambiente on Lüneburgs best known Plaza.

we had a quick bite on their cosy terrace. fries of sweet potato, antipasti, bruschetta and a nice glass of pinot grigio. happy as can be
