After the abhorrent breakfast we had partaken in earlier this morning I needed a coffee hit badly. Was passing through the Valley & noticed this place. Thought they would know how to make coffee being as they were serving Italian pizza! How wrong & I am basing my score only on the coffee & service to reflect that. I ordered the coffee to have there & was served a take away cup (another pet hate of mine) They whipped it away when I commented & must have tipped it straight back into a "proper" cup, which made it not hot enough. Piccolo Cafe is a delightfully humble little pizza cafe, just off the main strip adjoining an apartment complex; and just across the road from the Pig and Whistle. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
As basic as it appears from the outside the quality of the food is fabulous. We went there on a night which had us think it was dead, but perceptions can be wrong and every few minutes either a take away order was being collected or a delivery being rushed out the door.

Piccolo Cafe is a charmingly small pizza cafe located right on the main strip, next to an apartment complex and across the street from The Pig and Whistle. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. While it may seem basic from the outside, the food quality is fantastic. We visited on a quiet night, but were pleasantly surprised by the steady stream of customers picking up orders or having them delivered. We tried the Mexico City pizza (gluten-free option), which was delicious and highly recommended. The Eisberg salad was also a hit, with its mix of iceberg lettuce, cornichons, capers, red onions, dill, mint, and red wine dressing. Overall, a great experience at Piccolo Cafe.
Ordered through MenuLog when staying at The Johnson in Spring Hill. We picked Piccolo due to a varied menu (pizza, garlic bread, calamari, icecream, alcohol) Delivery was faster than estimated, communication was great, food held the temperature pretty well considering. The garlic bread was arguably the best we've had. Manhattan Supreme pizza had well balanced flavour. The calamari was great and we were so happy to find it on the menu as my daughter eats it everywhere we go.The salted pistachio praline icecream (with some fresh raspberries if you can) will completely change your life. I downloaded the app and ordered on my phone through Uber Eats. The bill goes on your uber account so no money changes hands, and an uber driver delivers it. From Piccolo in Fortitude Valley I have ordered Pasta Puttanesca, pasta al funghi, and a Caprese salad. Both delicious, and still hot. The meal arrived in about quarter of an hour. I've done this twice.
A nice meal was enjoyed by two of us here. There were no other customers and the service could've been better, but the spaghetti linguine was very good, and the beef lasagna was very good and the salad was too. It is also in the entertainment book now. A much nicer place to eat than the pubby places around it which don't serve good food anyway.
I ordered a coffee to go and was disappointed when they pushed my request for a takeaway cup aside. Instead, they poured my coffee into a regular cup which didn't keep it hot enough. The coffee lacked strength and crema, likely due to being poured out of a takeaway cup. I was left unimpressed with the overall coffee experience.
The dining experience was quite average, as was the service and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. There are definitely more attractive dining options nearby. After finishing our meal, we decided to have a coffee, but we were unexpectedly interrupted.

Really average food, really average service, really average venue. So may nicer places nearby. Tried a coffee after the food was average, shouldn't have bothered.
We had a breakfast here very nice food and coffee, downstairs in the Atrio building where we stayed.
