This review is going to be as plain and forgettable as my experience at Pizza Express. I ordered the Padana with extra chicken and my friend ordered the Pollo ad Astra with extra pepperoni. First off, for a £2.50 add-on you would think you paid 50p for it. Across the whole pizza there was probably about 4 pieces of added chicken, which isn’t enough for 8 slices. While my friend’s pepperoni to pizza slice ratio fared a bit better at 1-2 pieces of pepperoni to a slice. Secondly, my pizza, although I had been to the bathroom for a few minutes, was cold to lukewarm by the time I got to eating. Sorry but if the tomato base is chilled after 5min, it clearly hasn’t just come straight out of the ove...
Been coming to the Pizza Express in Marlow since 1998 and it has always been great, but recently it has become a disaster zone. Last visit they were out of ham so despite accepting an order for my pizza they came back with 20 minutes later with a different pizza and said I couldn 't have the one I wanted. Service used to be quick but now very slow. Ordered a beer, but it never came. No knives on most of the tables, so had to pinch one off one of the few tables that did have one. Never got offered a menu again for postres so after 10 minutes with empty plates we gave up. Won 't be coming back until they get decent staff who know what they are doing.
We fancied a pizza between Christmas and New Year. We would normally have gone to Da Luca in Marlow Bottom, but they were closed for a well-deserved Christmas break, So we ordered a take-away from Pizza Express. It would have been better if we'd waited,,,, The bases were on a par with supermarket pizzas, the tomato sauce seemed over-reduced, the toppings were meagre. I remember the pizza being better here, as were the Pizza Express ones we used to order from the supermarket. Or maybe we've been spoiled by Da Luca, whose pizzas are authentic, made on site, large and delicious. And cheaper!
We always go to marlow pizza express but tonight we were really disappointed with the service the first time in 10years. The service was extremely poor the manager was useless we order drinks which never arrived the young lad was the only person working hard tonight he was running around trying to keep everyone happy without any support from management also the food was great as usual but the service really let it down tonight. Started off on the wrong foot when waiter became annoyed about an allergen query. Went further down hill when food arrived with half the promised toppings missing (no broccoli or olives on a pizza already without cheese) making my pizza incredibly bland. Atmosphere felt tense and did not enjoy the experience at all. Would not recommend for families or pizza lovers.
I went there for lunch after a long time. The food was great as well as the wine and staff who are still working here. It's a well maintained restaurant, the toilets are always spotless and a great place to eat. I had the chicken wings and pasta and tiramisu and a coffee....Nothing was too much to ask .... Great team.Thanks.
