Pizza Express - Reserva de mesa

I haven’t been to Pizza Express for sometime and my nephew wanted to visit for his 13th birthday. Oh dear! Talk about deterioration! My starter was Garlic King Prawns- well that was disappointing, the ‘King’ element of the prawns was clearly lost in translation as the stewed prawns and tomatoes really failed miserably. The description read much better than the product (Garlic King Prawns £7.75 Juicy king prawns, garlic butter, tomatoes, roasted peppers and chilli flakes with fresh tomatoes, red onion and parsley, served with Dough Balls). Early on Thursday evening (7/4/2024). My wife went into the Upminster restauant whilst I parked the car. After being initially ignored by staff sha had to approach one of them herself. She explained, to a totally dis-interested staff member, that we hadn 't booked but asked if there were any tables available. Very few tables were occupied and most tables were not layed out. However, there seemed to be rubbish strewn all over most of them. In the 5 minutes that she was there no tables were cleared. Waited 90 minutes for the main course after paying £7. 50 for pollo Milanese starter (3 chicken dippers). Our lasagne contained no meat at all, and the pizza under cooked. The takeaway service was given preferential treatment over the restaurant and we were not the only people complaining. It will be a long time before we go back there, the cost of the meal no longer is value for money. I will add that our waiter tried to get our meal on the table but after all that time the meal was left with the lasagna sent back.

I visited this restaurant with family and friends. The service was extremely slow and poor. We considered ordering from Deliveroo because the staff seemed more focused on them rather than the customers in the restaurant. The food was tasty once we finally received it, but we had to wait an hour for our starters. Reserva una mesa ahora

Having read the reviews below I nearly cancelled my reservation. However I didn't and I'm so glad. The kitchen was clean, the food was delicious, both pizzas, the starters and our deserts were lovely. The staff friendly and helpful. I really suggest that you try this place for yourself!

Greeted at the door with poor attitude asking if we had booked on a Sunday night at 8pm?! Chef was very unprofessional : eating on the job, taking selfies, joking/mucking around and had forgotten about our pizzas which were burnt. It used to be lovely in here but has gone down hill.

The service was terrible. Our order was lost and we had to place it again, resulting in a long wait of over an hour. The delivery drivers were given priority over us. It also took a long time to receive the bill. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Food is good but service is poor . Didn’t give us menus. Serves don’t look around at you so it is hard to get served

It was ok. One of the pizza bases where not cooked. But the rest was nice.The staff are very nice. It is ok.
