I'll start by saying that I moved in about three months ago and tried every pizzeria nearby. I also believe that this is the best pizzeria in the area, I worked on one in NHP for years, which was in the same ball park as umbertos. Pizellis is an incredible new pizzeria in this city and a hidden gem. The cakes are incredibly fresh and will never dissapoint. The discs are large and always doubled accordingly. My family and I love this place. The staff is always friendly and the shop has a really comfortable home, feel yourself. You can say that the chefs put a lot of thought and love in what they do. Your sandwiches, calzone, rolls and garlic knots are great. They also make really great special pizzas. However, hands down, they make the best regular cheese pizza I had anywhere on Long Island.
This restaurant is under new management, and I couldn't be happier! I ordered the grilled chicken bruschetta, and it is absolutely delicious! The duck dish is served with a side of pasta, and I chose penne with red sauce. My brother got a burrito (yes, they now serve burritos!) and he really enjoys it. My dad is also loving his meatball hero. Don't miss out on this place!
I recently moved to the area and after trying out several pizzerias, I've finally found the one I love. The new owner is incredibly friendly, and the food is simply delicious. They're currently renovating, and I can't wait for the additional seating to be ready so I can enjoy my meals here!
