Today (4/6) I was able to speak with the owner of this restaurant. Yesterday I stopped in to speak with him regarding the incident that took place on 3/31 with my daughter not being allowed to bring in her own food. He was not available so I left my number. When he called me today he was very kind and apologetic. He explained that this has never happened before. I found out that there is not a written policy stating that outside food can’t be brought in. I have been researching restaurants in the area near Vassar before my son 's college visits and found several upsetting reviews for this pizzeria. Most of us with dietary restrictions are so happy to know that there are safe options available and will go out of our way to patronize these establishments. There's something to be said about perfect pizza. My mom is incredibly picky about it. This pizza brought us back about 45 years or so to where I grew up in NJ. Thin crust with an ever so slight crunch to it. Tasty sauce that's not overwhelmed by oregano. Great cheese. Not burnt. Just a perfectly pleasant slice. You can't find that in many places these days. The slices were each bigger than my mom's head and she crushed it. I had a nice bowl of pasta fagioli with a warm, delicious dinner roll. Service was fine. Decor was fun. Comfy. Oh yeah, I'll be back for sure. Oh, one more thing..... 15 BUCKS! HOLY HELL! That's a steal!
The specialty items at Pizzeria Bacio are in its name, 'pizza. ' The pizza is where we have experienced consistent quality for the past twelve years. The Verdura (fresh mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach, broccoli, mozzarella and mild sauce) is the pizza of choice. Although the menu price has regularly increased over the years, the quality of ingredients and portion size has remained consistent—the increased menu price reflects the increased cost of ingredients. Since we live within walking distance, it 's an easy pick-up, but be prepared for the stair climb up to the restaurant.

Nice patio area on the side of the building to dine when the weather is nice. I met a friend for lunch yesterday and while she enjoyed the chicken soup, I had a small salad with grilled chicken. The wait staff was attentive and professional. Everything tasted great. Parking is fairly easy on the street. It does get busy during lunch and dinner. All in all, good experience at Bacio and I would recommend it.
Food is good, but my workplace orders consistently, and the food takes over an hour and a half to arrive. It arrives much later than they say it will too often. Service: Delivery Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100+
