This is a must stop for anyone staying for more than a day or two in the area and wanting to economize. The pizzas are excellent, the service and friendliness is first rate, and the ambience very consistent with the Provencal spirit a husband and wife operating a cave in an old building with one the chef (manning the wood fired stove right in the principal room) and the other treating everyone like kings and queens with polite attention, no matter what language you speak. We have a village house here, spend several months of the year at our home away from home, and this is one of our favorite venues for a delightful evening.
The thin crust pizzas cooked in the wood oven are amazing, so is the potato gratin with the lamb, the chocolate moelleux or the crème brûlée. We loved the hostess, her kindness and her service. The tables/chairs are basic but the food is super fresh. We asked if she could sort out for us some greens besides the menu, we got an amazing ratatouille or fresh green salad leaves with fresh pressed garlic and red onions. Always make a reservation otherwise you will be turned away. The restaurant does not look that good from outside, but do not judge the book by its cover. Finally, the pizzas can be ordered as take aways as well.
La Storia has a wood fired pizza oven and serves top notch pizzas. There is a nice friendly atmosphere and overall it is a very good pizza restaurant. We had a traditional pizza reine which was excellent and also a pizza with a creme fraiche base instead of tomato and topped with reblechon cheese, onions, lardons, waxy new potatoes and olives superb! Very good Luberon wine was 9 Euros for a 0.5L carafe. Definitely worth a visit!
We ate here on a quiet Saturday evening. The lady who owns the restaurant was extremely welcoming and everything was done with a smile. Food was delicious Italian and service was excellent and it looks like there has been a really good refurb on the restaurant contrary to the pictures on Tripadvisor. Would highly recommend.
