We've been there 3 times and to me, the food has been excellent each time. However, the first time we came, it was with friends and 5 kids under the age of 6, we were greeted with a four letter word beginning with "S" that seemed appropriate at the time, but the owner of the establishment was quite rude. The next time we came with our two kids, we were told they were too busy and sent away (it was empty) because we didn't make a reservation. Tonight, we made a reservation, which was challenged when we arrived, but still upheld. It was interesting though to see and hear through the Italian and German that I know how much she thought of everyone else and even gave a nice couple some free wine...
We went there for dinner, but had no reservation. The outdoor eating was empty when we arrived, so we thought the reservation was more of a formality than of practical use. We were seated right away, but it too some time to get a waitress to take out order. I had a Quattro Formaggio (four-cheese) Pizza, which was okay but nothing spectacular. Both my wife and daughter has a pasta dish. Once we were done with dinner it was very dififcult to get the bill and we waited an extraordinary amount of time, even after going to the bar and telling the waitress we'd like the bill.as a caveat, other diners had arrived and were being served, so it might have been due to the limited staff and busy dinner...
I've eaten here three or four times and I've not once been even the least bit impressed with the food, service or price. Given the state of the food, paying anything for it would be a rip off. And one could receive better customer service in jail. I tried to give it a fair chance by going back a couple of times, but it just gets worse and worse. The lady who runs the place has the attitude of a junkyard dog and when she's not in a terrible mood, her and the "cook" like to make fun of customers within earshot. I can't believe this place is somehow still in business. Just don't give in to whatever morbid curiosity might be tempting you to try a meal here. Don't do it. It's not worth it.
My favorite Resturant is da Maria , BEST !!!!I've been coming here almost 4 years now ,We find it by excited 4 years ago .Ever since then has been my favorite place to eat .Service is so great even when is very busy .Food is fantastic every time and every body loves Maria she is the owner of the Resturant .You must visit here , to have best food and best Italian time with Maria .Tank you Maria you are the best :)Love you :)CIAO Bella :)))

Fantastic authentic Italian cuisine in a lovely, comfortable setting with very friendly staff and owner. I've lived in Italy for four years and would highly encourage anyone travelling to Landstuhl Germany to give this restaurant a try if they desire good Italian food, I guarantee they will be repeat customers. The house wines are everything one would come to expect in Italy - wonderful! They now do accept Visa and MasterCard CCs.
One of my favorite places to go with friends who have kids. Maria makes all feel like you have come to her house for a meal! The kids love to watch her grate cheese out of the "giant" wheel of cheese. The food is good, but the atmosphere is great! Well worth a try!
Don't catch Maria on a bad night as she will refuse to serve you, but on a good night Maria is most hospitable. The food is always good, and slightly more expensive than other Italian restaurants in the area.
We went on a friends recommendation and we where not disappointed!! The food was excellent and so was the wine. Service was a little slow even for German standards but not bad. Will be going back again!!

It was good and was also good! I normally don't carry cash with me and this restaurant only accept cash as form of payment so if you are planing to go make sure you carry cash with you.
If you love Italian food, you'll love Maria's. We've been there many times and are never disappointed. I was raised in an Italian family and visiting her place reminds me of home.
