I had the pleasure to eat in La Gondola many times over the years; this is a well-known facility in Schweinfurt back to the early 1960s. I grew up there, so over the years I think I tried the whole menu and must say that I was never disappointed. The portions are plentiful and the price is about the same as other Italian restaurants in the area. I always look forward to my visits at home to a trip to LaGondola and thanks to their wonderful delivery, which is usually the first thing I order when I arrive.
When I was at the Army Hospital in Wurzburg (for 2 months after an accident), they sent me a pizza and I don't know how fast my guys go, but it was still warm when I got it. When I came from the hospital, we were the first. Since I have eaten through a straw because it burned on my face, it felt God to eat GOOD solid food. They didn't let me pay for everything. I still have her card, although I don't remember Mama's name, I'll never forget the restaurant. paul
I only ate her pizza in 1962. I also served in the army in Ledward Barracks and I think they then delivered. We would order a lot of pizza. When I was eating pizza on the grounds in the area of the pizza restaurant. When I think of fantastic pizza, even many years later, I still think of La gondola. And here in CA we also have excellent pizza at the Round Table Pizza.
When we order Italian for delivery it is only from la gondela. The food is fresh and tasty. The portions are descent size and great value. You can feed a family of 4 for about 40 euro. Staff is friendly when you call and isn't take long to receive delivery. Drivers are nice and all in all it well worth the wait. We will order again soon.
