as a former part of the barbaric (non-Romanian rich - here the limes ran along the donau) there were already quite early settlements on this part - the nature reserve lobau - still wild. there were several wars and in 1912 the most modern airport in Europe was built here, which is today replaced by a large urban planning project seestadt.
