A fine place if you enjoy overpriced, mediocre food and forgettable service. We visited PJ?s recently upon the advice of one of my dining companions, whose judgment I?ve begun to seriously question after eating at this establishment. If you have no expectations and enjoy wasting money, by all means, come here! Since they have an extensive breakfast menu, I decided to do breakfast for dinner and ordered a western omelette with a side of French toast and Canadian bacon. Well, to start with, our extremely apathetic waiter could answer no questions about the menu and seemed eager to finish his shift as soon as possible. When the food arrived, the omelette wasn?t exactly hot, and the side of bacon was nowhere to be seen. It?s hard to screw up a western omelette, but apparently they found a way. The eggs didn?t seem fresh and the ham was very strange. I couldn?t even eat half of it. When I asked about the missing Canadian bacon, the waiter admitted to forgetting it and sheepishly advised the kitchen to put in a rush order. The result was a greasy mess on a plate of tough overcooked meat. Ugh!! This meal made me seriously consider becoming a vegetarian. One of my dining companions had pancakes with bacon. The pancakes were average but, honestly, I?ve had better at roadside diners. I mean, if you?re calling yourself a pancake house, they should be something special. The only highlight of the meal was the tasty **** Mary I ordered. I should have had several and skipped the entree. Certainly the service was nothing to write home about. Between the waiter forgetting part of my order and not even bothering to check on us after the food came out, I?d sooner forget him altogether the way he forgot that we?re paying customers. No wonder the place was empty when we got there and didn?t exactly fill up as we were leaving either. If you?re in the mood for breakfast, just visit a local diner instead and use the extra money to leave a nice tip for a deserving server.
