Deciding to give a different Greek restaurant a look, we went to PLAKA on a Friday evening. The location is OK, overlooking an intersection and it was open and airy. There is a large forecourt area for outdoor dining which would be nice on warmer evenings and inside it was sparse but pleasant. The food is your traditional greek fare, Saganaki, salads, tzatziki, gyros and so on.We had the Saganaki ($12) , Tzatziki ($8), mixed Gyros ($33) & mixed salad ($11).The saganaki was a bit rubbery but OK, the tzatziki was pretty good value as the serving size and breads that went with it were plentiful. Normally you get a large slab of tzatziki and 4 small bits of bread, not here - we got a good helpin...

We tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from an online, supposedly reliable website. We are heading to Greece shortly and I remember from years ago genuine Greek food is good value. The whole experience last night in this restaurant was negative. The decor and the interior fit out was more like Highway Roadhouse than a restaurant. We shared a calamari entrée – $18 for six little rings! We then ordered moussaka and a chicken and lamb Giro mix which was supposed to be 300 g of meat for the princely sum of $33 without any vegetables. The lamb was fatty and gristley and the Lamb Ragu in the moussaka was also fatty. In addition this restaurant uses those appalling small ISO wine tastin...

When I first moved into this area five years ago this resturant was rumored to be the best Greek Resturant around and I have always wanted to go, so I took my friend to finely experience it for myself.First impressions it looked a bit run down but let's not judge a book by its cover. We were instantly greeted by a warm friendly young man and I have to say the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was flawless throughout our whole experience. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!But unfortunately the food for us didn't cut the grade. Tasteless and TOO MUCH SALT.Moussaka lacked flavor, just eggplant with cheese Calamari was stringy, I nearly chocked on it.Saganaki should be served soft and slightly ozz...

We walked in without a reservation on a Thursday night and it was filling up quickly. We were seated quickly, given a menu and water. A good start from a cheerful waitress, who explaied each dish as she brought it out. The range of food is fairly extensive. Our entree of meatballs in a tomato sauce were excellent and the dips and bread were very moreish. Our mains chicken and lamb gyros were succulent and plentiful. No nasty offcuts here. The buckwheat salad was one of the best salads we have ever eaten. We had a LL&B to drink. The wine seemed a bit expensive by the glass. We thought the food was well priced and there is a children's menu which looked pretty good. We will definately be back... Reserva una mesa ahora

Dined here on Friday night. Had the banquet which was delicious. Service was very good, staff attentive and atmosphere was nice. The only negative was the pricing. I thought it was a little overpriced. Overall, a good night out.

Disappointed in corkage charge of $15 on valentines day - normally $8 It is not a public holiday and not necessary to pay penalty rates to staff why? - perhaps greed which will not bring returning patronage

This is a great place to eat. Food is great, and the fish is exceptional. Herb crusted baked blue eye is fantastic. Of course the lamb is wonderful too. Reserva una mesa ahora
