Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Never coming back to this location again! Last time my husband came in to pick up playa bowls and the staff was very rude to him and even messed up our order. We let it go but today we experienced horrible customer service again! I placed my order on the app and when I arrived my order wasn’t ready so I followed up after waiting for 10 minutes in the store and the girl told me they are working on it. After another 20 minutes went by and the staff prioritizing everyone else that walked in after me, I said something again and turned out they made my order and had it sitting in the fridge. Has gone downhill. Replaced all of the original employees with employees who are not well trained, and the smoothies are not nearly as good anymore. My smoothie had bits of banana in it, and the overall taste is not nearly as enjoyable. Edit: I just poured out the smoothie, and there was a just piece of banana in there that the woman didn’t even bother to blend. The smoothie also didn’t have the peanut/almond butter on the inside of the cup, as they have almost always done it ever since I started going to Playa. I actually happen to like the fact that they used to employ high school/college students, as it leant a younger vibe to the place that is, or was supposed to be, all about açaí bowls...
We used to love this place, the last three times we’ve been there the bowls have been terrible. I don’t know what tonight’s excuse might be, the two times before the staff was obviously so stoned that assembling açaí bowls was a challenge. But tonight they were terrible, more like shaved ice with syrup and some fruit on top and the kids making it seemed at least alert.
As a Florida girl, whenever I crave a little boost and want to enjoy some feel-good food that radiates sunshine, I always head to Playa Bowls. It feels just like a day at the beach! Everything is so delicious and fresh, and I never feel guilty indulging in the delightful offerings at Playa.

The order is never ready when we arrive, and the staff seems more focused on chatting with each other than on acknowledging incoming customers. I'm really looking forward to the new Chevy Chase location opening!
I've dined in, picked up, got delivery and will say that I love the bowls and smoothies but the atmosphere and service drops stars. The service is low energy at best, complete apathy at its worst.
