This place is what it is, and if you jive with what they 're doing you 'll understand the 5 stars. The pizza is basic, but that isn 't bad it 's crispy and the cheese blend has a classic pleasant cafe flavor. The pasta may not be twirled to be aesthetically pleasing, and the prime rib may not be herb crusted with a compound butter, but it 's hitting the notes. They 're serving good food at great prices for their neighbors with a smile surrounded by history, and that always deserves 5 stars.
The decir is a little dated, but not raggedy at all. We were seated immediately. The staff was professional and polite. I enjoyed my veggie pizza and my husband's onion rings. The total for 3 people was $35. Would we do this again, yes. This is definitely a family restaurant. I have a bias for local, neighborhood restaurants, and the Pleasant Cafe is definitely in that category. This is a casual spot.
Jameson neat, Guinness, water. 2 hours with the Sox. One sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza to come. The pie reminds me of the great and now-gone Salerno's in Stratford. I visit Pleasant Cafe often for pizza; first time for bar service. Uniformly good crew here in a neighborhood gem.
Pizza was delicious. We sat at the bar and you get two servers, one at the bar and one for food. That would be fine but they were so out of synch, it took forever for the bartender to get someone to take our food order. 2 checks was fine but again the timing was so different. Reserva una mesa ahora
We were in town for a baseball tournament and this place was recommended to us. We were craving good homemade food after eating fast food the last couple of days. From start to finish our food was amazing and the service was great too! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Classic atmosphere to bring you back in time. Everyone enjoyed their dish from pizza, to chicken parm to veal. Can’t go wrong here and the service was spot on.
Great meal at a classic restaurant with stellar service. Veal and eggplant parm and shrimp scampi. Heaping portions and piping hot!
