There are car parks at the entrance to the valley and its seemed to be the done thing to walk up the valley by the side to the small river and then eat at the this restaurant and walk back. There are also numerous more...strenuous walks in the area . We parked about two thirds along and walked to the Pochtenfall waterfall which is about a ten minute steep walk from the restaurant . While its a nice view it is not as spectacular as other waterfalls in the area . The path goes on upwards and over the waterfall but we stopped after seeing the falls . We then had lunch at the restaurant which is in a clearing and has rows and rows of trestle tables and is clearly very popular . The food is good...

After a strenuous hike we looked forward to a small refreshment in the restaurant Pochtenfall.We were looking for a place on the well visited terrace. Although the service was always close, it was not possible to clean up the previous guests and not to accept an order. after a felt eternality (approx. 20 min) we could order at the very unfriendly service (no gruss, no apology). the shirr remained on the table. the ordered drinks and desserts were all separated. the ordered coffee was brought when the dessert was already almost ate and we still sat before the empty churn of the predecessor what remained so until the final. we were coming here after a hike. here the senior boss still maintains personal contact with the guests. the location is supper and also the large terrace invites you to stay. the menu is extensive with traditional dishes. it also has a wild dish proposal depending on the season. the food was always rich and tasty. we were served by a German served daughter, in which you felt that you were doing the work. this restaurent is worth visiting!

the restaurant is idyllic, only 10 min. from the pochtenfall distant service is extremely nice and attentive. the cold plate with cheek cheese and speck tasted excellent. from our table we had our daughters on the playground always in sight and could enjoy a glass of wine in rest. we'll be back.

as admirable as the ownerfamlie still manages this original beautiful restaurant in idyllic berner Oberlander location. friendly service, servitude and good service. you sit in the middle of the mountain world and get out of it. you also take in the buy that sometimes wants to have good ding.

Roel cheese with bottle spiezer white wine in the garden. then salat and the main course first class bark fillet in restaurant. with kartoffel gratin and sweet, as it only made the grandmother.
