Point Loma Brigantine

It's our first time At Brigantine Shelter Island. Our server Carolyn was great. She's stylish, very nice and was very pleasant with us. We asked for her suggestions and we enjoyed the food very tasty. We were seated at the window. It was an enjoyable evening. We had a Crispy Coconut Macadamia Shrimp appetizer, a couple delicious entrees (Crab Stuffed Tiger Shrimp Crispy Lobster Tempura Tacos), some cocktails (Bourbon Peach Smash Passionfruit Margarita) to try, which we both enjoyed. Parking and availability was great and definitely a PLUS compared to other areas that are a nightmare so we just avoid even when we consider and try... it's been a fail for those other spots. My husband and I went there to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We were seated promptly. Our server, Michael was friendly and engaging. We shared the calamari strips which were delicious. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab and my husband got the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. Both were outstanding. Michael even brought us cream brulee with a candle as a celebratory gesture. We certainly had a great time at this lovely restaurant and will be back again.

The calamari strips came cold and greasy, as though the oil wasn’t hot enough when frying. The service was exceedingly slow and we felt unattended. Although the server did apologize. One of our party appeared disappointed with his crab stuffed shrimp. I didn’t ask why. The rest of the dishes were as we know expected. We have a long relationship with this restaurant chain. So we are well familiar with the quality of food and service. We were a bit disappointed this visit.

Love Brigantine! It's my go-to spot before any concert at Humphrey's. Great food, great drinks, great ambiance. I made a reservation to be safe but we ended up eating in the bar and had the fish tacos.
