Yesterday I went for the first time and I was guided by the time here 9PM since I wanted to eat at the restaurant. I arrived at 7:45PM and they told me that there were only takeout orders because they were going to close. While they were delivering my order there were people who were just serving it. So I don't know why we couldn't eat there? 5 minutes later, about 8 people arrived and had to leave since they also wanted to eat in the restaurant but they could no longer be served. They had put up a sign that the bathroom was out of service and who knows if it was true or they just didn't want it dirty. The place is nice and the food is very good. We decided to try the 12-Piece Family Meal with half grilled chicken and half fried chicken. The grilled chicken was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was definitely better and more worthy of ordering than the fried chicken. The family meal also came with 3 sides and the choice of either tortillas or dinner rolls. Our favorite side was the corn salad, which was both appetizing and healthy. The dinner rolls, however, were too dry and bland for our taste, so we would opt for all tortillas next time. Overall, Pollo Campero is a solid choice for fast food, offering reasonable prices and generous portions.
I was charged $5.00 for a St Jude's cup without my consent when I asked for a large drink costing $3.00. When I explained that I had not ordered the St Jude cup initially and only wanted a large drink, the staff member insisted that the difference in price was due to the cup. Despite my protests, she offered to change the cup or process a return. This experience felt shady and disrespectful, especially considering that I am a healthcare worker. It seemed as though the staff member assumed I would not care about the price, which was incredibly rude.
I supported this business since it first opened. Now I will nomore. Came here got on line, the ladies behind the counter were joyfully serving another Spanish customer, laughing and talking their language. Once I got to the register the lady taking my order all of a sudden had an attitude. I ordered my food and told her it was to stay, she still put my food on a bag. This restaurant is spotlessly clean. The service was exceptional, with staff who were attentive to the customers' needs. They were very polite and friendly. The food was incredibly delicious, especially the chicken - it was the best I've ever had! The yuca fries were also superb, with a crispy exterior and tender interior. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and highly recommend that you give it a try!
