Travelled from Manchester to visit Ponte. Said we can have a table at 6.45 but need to give it up at 7.30 as they couldn’t find our booking. 45 mins isn’t a reasonable time for them to make the food and for us to dine. I ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was nice, big portion and I left over half the portion. I asked for this to be packed up to be taken back to Manchester. Got home and they had packed my friends leftover chicken piece (small than a chicken nugget) and chucked my pasta despite clearly asking for this to be packed. I’m not concerned did this get reserved to another customer as they were busy and my portion was more than half. I was too full after eating bruschetta and garlic...
This was a strange experience...... I went to Moseley rather than into the City Centre in order to avoid parking issues. Unfortunately the same problem exists there. An apparently authentic Italian restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol or pork orientated dishes?!!!! I wonder why?... The food was average at best and came at different times for myself and my mother. We couldn't work out why the food took so long to arrive as it looked fairly devoid of customers, but all became clear later on. The reality is that there is a deliberate segregation of customers. Asian customers were sat in an area away from everyone else which is not something I've ever experienced!!!
Have just read the reviews which are very mixed I was really surprised to read the negative ones. Had no problem booking for 7.30pm on a Friday we arrived half an hour early and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and were spoken too by a lovely happy waitress. We were seated on the right of the restaurant where there were mixed nationalities. The food was delicious we had starters my partner had prawns and avocado and I had scallops. The mains I had chicken in a sauce with asparagus and my partner had the halibut all full of flavour and cooked to perfection. What a change not to be overcharged for wine ...we took our own. Great meal we will be back
Booked table a week in advance. When we arrived confusion over the booking for 6.30 as had wrong name written down in diary Tasty food with good portions. After dessert, plates were quickly cleared away and we were presented with bill despite still having drinks in front of us. Staff kept coming to table to see if we were ready to pay bill. The same member of staff who booked us in also came and asked us if we had booked the table and at what time? It was obvious that they wanted us to leave. Table booking is a shambles and definitely needs improving. Based on this we will not be returning and would definitely not recommend.

This restaurant is a great place to go if you are after a lively atmosphere and delicious Italian food. Six of us enjoyed a really excellent meal and great service last night. The restaurant was busy and there was a lively atmosphere. All of the dishes we ordered were really tasty and very well cooked. Our pre starter of tomato garlic bread was divine…. as always! The fish soup was excellent and full of fish. The melanzana parmigiana was gorgeous and lobster ravioli was well filled, hot and delicious. All main courses were lovely with the scallops and king prawns generous and perfectly cooked. Once again a great night !
We recently visited this restaurant on a Friday night in early March. We have been before but it was a couple of years ago. The food is excellent, I had mussels (the best I have ever had) followed by pasta with meat balls. The service was good, the staff made in welcome and were attentive, easily recommend- a great experience.
Went as a walk in . Given a table and ordered our food My food was fine but my partners lasagne was cold. Returned to kitchen and returned after been microwaved to within an inch of its life. Food ok. But didn’t feel very welcoming. Glad to leave to be honest Will not be returning
Beautiful little spot for some authentic Italian food (which is also halal). Family run business the owners are lovely and the food is amazing. A fan fave is their steak and the Seafood linguine
