This is the Popeye 's Louisiana Kitchen at the Lido Faire Shopping Center in Newark, CA. I stopped here on a Sunday evening around 615pm to take a little break. While parked, I watched this very slow drive thru line at Popeye 's Chicken. Hmm, I wonder how long that line really is. So I drive to the other side, and happen to peek inside the lobby. Been coming here for as long as I can remember. The food is always hot and fresh. Came here during dinner time and saw their wings so I had to order. If you like their fried chicken texture, you’ll like their crunchy wings too. It was packed inside and at drive-thru. The staff are so busy and a couple of them are still in training. They still kept the food coming out very quickly and were very nice and friendly. The dine-in area is okay. We mostly just ordered the takeout only anyway.
I love Popeyes chicken sandwich.. But when I come to this place, for a sandwich which is already 5$, the owner(I assume he was) was not ready to give me the sauces like ranch sauce. He is like I am going you sauce this time as if he was doing me a favor.Why do Popeyes give their Franchise to such people. Makes me not wanna go there anymore. Also they tables were not clean when Iwent inside. I had to find a clean table just to sit and eat.

I have lived in Newark for a few years now and this Popeyes is our go to for some good tasting fried chicken. I usually go thru the drive thru but recently went inside to order the Cajun turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Will update the review when it’s cooked! I had their truffle chicken sandwich and it was the bomb!
The chicken is good, but I recommend using the drive-thru or opting for takeout. The atmosphere here is lacking; it feels like most of the diners are actually staff members who seem more interested in their phones than the dining experience, likely because they would prefer to be elsewhere.
I just ordered the spicy crisp combo for $12.79 and am currently the only person at home. The cheese isn't melted—I'm not sure if they even heated it. They only provided ketchup after I asked for it. So, make sure to ask for anything you want; otherwise, you might not receive it.
Very good food, service; very bad...We went for an 8-piece meal and they did not give us or offer us any sauce or capsut...very bad.
