Ya know...i hate to have to rate this location so low, it 's been my go to for my family for years...but just today I had an experience that warranted this review...my bad rating is SOLEY on the Manager on Duty (the one with the stupid haircut and lipstick tattoo on his neck)...i approached him saying the person ringing me out had neglected to include a cup of cheese i requested. I had not noticed this right away after stepping away from the cash register. I approached him saying I was willing to pay for it, but did I really have to go stand back in what was now a long line for the mistake of their employee at the register...only to recieve a yup..gotta get back in line ...after already purc...
I would not recommend ordering ribs from this restaurant. Mine were overcooked and burnt. If you're looking for great ribs, I would suggest going to Russell’s on Thatcher instead. Additionally, it seems like the staff lacks proper training and knowledge about the menu. This location has really declined in quality. I think it could benefit from some management improvements—perhaps an undercover visit from the boss would help.
Very good restaurant if you want something more real hamburger meat this is the place and if you don't speak Spanish I don't know if they were already there but they placed electronic kiosks to place your order
The restaurant has plenty of staff, yet it still feels quite disorganized. I've definitely had a much better experience at other locations, so it's worth the drive to visit one of them!

The staff at Portillo's are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. I absolutely love the food here!
Drive through experience was great, always lots of cars but moves quick. Polite employees and food is always very good.
I absolutely love this place! I've visited Chicago twice, and I always make it a point to stop by when I'm there.
It's always busy inside and outside the restaurant, and the drive-thru often has a long line.
