Service was terrible which is really weird because they have Soo many people working there, my order was ready but they never called my number i was standing there for almost 10 minutes until I approached the counter to check my order... it was sitting there, the same bag I saw them place there 10 minutes earlier... Now for the food..we ordered chicken tenders combo, chicken tenders were pretty decent size but unfortunately we're bland no flavor, french fries on the other hand were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The Buena Park location is always bustling, so we prefer to visit before noon. The beef and sausage are so delicious that I haven't tried anything else! I like mine with sweet peppers and regular gravy. If you prefer your bread to have a little extra crunch or are ordering for takeout/delivery, I recommend getting the gravy on the side and trying it with cheese sauce. The crinkle-cut fries are fantastic as well. If you're a fan of spicy food, be sure to add hot peppers!

The atmosphere is beautifully decorated, and the cashiers are quick and have a clever remark for every order they call out, which is pretty enjoyable. However, the food—I ordered a chili dog—was disappointing. It was overly greasy and had a rubbery texture that made it rather unappetizing. The kids had the typical burger and fries, which were nothing out of the ordinary. Would I go back? Probably not. But at least I gave it a try.

I had such a great time! Everything was really good, but my favorites were the beef hotdog, the Maxwell Street Polish sausage, and their famous chocolate cake! The staff here are so warm and definitely tend to all your needs. They do their absolute best to make your visit a positive experience and I appreciate that so much. Saw someone ruin a Chicago dog here but more about that later. If you want something incredible order the Big Italian Beef, quick dip but also ask for gravy on the side, cheese sauce and both hot and sweet giardiniera. Of course you will also need a cake shake. I can vouch for everything you have read about this place! What a wonderful spot to hangout and relax with a few friends after work. Authentic food, reasonable price, tasty dishes, and great atmosphere! And for dessert, Porto's is just a few blocks away!

Everything was tasty, but I found the salad to be quite small for $11. Also, the burger and chili fries arrived cold. I suggest saving some money and eating inside the restaurant instead. I'm still a fan of Portillo's!

Tastes like home! I was thrilled to discover a Portillo's in Buena Park! As a Chicago native, I left feeling like I had returned home. The food is incredible!
