Portillo's Brandon is the only Portillo’s location in the entire Tampa Bay area. They should consider opening another spot around the Clearwater peninsula—perhaps on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard or near the mall off Route 19. I only stopped here because it was on the way from Lakeland to Clearwater. I ordered my usual Italian combo with sausage and beef, dipped, and for an extra charge, I added melted mozzarella cheese along with both sweet and hot peppers. It’s quite oily from the hot peppers, but that’s part of what makes it so delicious. No other place comes close to matching the unique taste and secret spices in their sausage. I visited Portillo's for the first time, and it certainly won't be my last. I really enjoyed the food; the burger was cooked perfectly! The onion rings were likely the crispiest I've ever eaten. The decor is fantastic and evokes a great sense of nostalgia. The staff was friendly and checked in on us a few times to ensure we had everything we needed. The ordering process is straightforward—you place your order at the counter and pick it up on the other side. You can also sit wherever you find an available table, and there are plenty of options.
I had an excellent first experience at this restaurant! The service was quick and the staff was very friendly, paying close attention to the entire food preparation process. Everyone seemed involved and attentive. I really appreciated the New Orleans-style music that enhanced the ambiance. The place was clean and well-maintained. I ordered the Polish sausage with mustard and sautéed onions, and it was absolutely delightful. I will definitely be coming back. Overall, I would rate it 4.3 stars.
I was in the area for work for two days and decided to stop by for a quick meal tonight. Overall, everything was quite good, especially the beef sandwich, which I really enjoyed. The only downside was the wait time for the food, especially since there weren't many other customers ahead of me. However, everything else was great, and I would definitely return if I find myself in this area again.

On September 21, 2022, at 6:22 PM, I had an amazing experience at Portillo's. We ordered the Single Bacon Cheeseburger along with fries and drinks. This was our second visit, and we have many more planned for the future. Thank you, Leon, for making our time at the Brandon, FL location so enjoyable. We also tried a slice of chocolate cake and an éclair, both of which were fantastic!
As someone who recently moved from Chicago, I really appreciate being able to savor a taste of home anytime! You definitely need to try the Italian beef, Maxwell Street Polish, or treat yourself to an authentic Chicago dog—you won’t regret it. It's unfortunate that they don’t offer Portillo's pasta dishes and ribs yet, but I'm hopeful that will change soon!
The food was ok. Wasn't busy. I ordered the #5 Italian beef and sausage. The bread was soggy. Beef wasn't hot, just blah. The sausage was burnt and tasted burnt. I use to frequent this location when it first opened years ago and it was great. Today Notthe Portillo's I remember.
All hail the king of Chilli dogs! So darn good. Not a bad item on the menu. Nothing compares to Portillos. Messy but so yummy. When in Tampa, stop by and grub Chicago style!!!

The Italian beef sandwich, garnished with both spicy and sweet peppers, was truly delicious! The chocolate cake was incredible too.
The chocolate éclair cake is truly exquisite! You must give it a try!
