The only Portillos in the whole Tampa Bay area. They need to open a Portillos around the Clearwater peninsula-maybe on Gulf to Bay Boulevard or by the mall off of Rt. 19. Only stopped here because it was on the way from Lakeland, Florida to Clearwater. I had the usual Italian combo sausage and beef, dipped and for extra charge I love to add melted mozzarella cheese and both sweet and hot peppers. Very oily from the hot peppers but that's why it's so good. No other place has ever been able to match the taste and secret spices that go into the sausage. Worth the drive every so often and the Cheeseburger with bacon is my other favorite I get from this chain. Quite possibly the best cheeseburger...
the first time in portillo, but not least. enjoyed the eating burger was right! probably the most crispy tweeper rings I ever had. decor is quite super nostalgic. the personal was friendly and checked in a few times to make sure we didn't miss anything else. simple ordering process as they order at the counter and pick up on the opposite side. put her herself in the first available table that there is a lot.
Never thought traveling to Florida I would find a Chicago staple!! Had to stop haven't had a Portillos beef is some time! Well it didn't disappoint, just my suggestion get the combination beef and sausage with peppers (I prefer hot) Mozzarella and dipped, it is a mess to eat but it is soooooo good!!! Stop eat and get that Chicago flavor again!
The food was ok. Wasn't busy. I ordered the #5 Italian beef and sausage. The bread was soggy. Beef wasn't hot, just blah. The sausage was burnt and tasted burnt. I use to frequent this location when it first opened years ago and it was great. Today Not the Portillo's I remember.
