The restaurant exceeded my expectations. The Fungo Portobello Gratinato (Portobello mushroom stuffed with garlic croutons, fresh herbs served with roasted red pepper sauce) priced at $10 was delicious, with 1.5 portobello mushrooms and crispy croutons. The Insalata Caesar (Crisp romaine lettuce with homemade croutons, grated parmesan cheese) priced at $7 was fresh but not particularly exciting. The Linguine con Gamberi Rombo (Tiger Prawns, Halibut, sautéed with Vodka Garlic, olive oil, fresh herbs, spicy tomato sauce) was good and simple, resembling a homemade dish. The Gamberi Al Cognac (1 dozen Tiger prawns pan seared, flambéed with cognac in a light rose sauce served with risotto) priced...

I recently dined at a restaurant during Dine Out 2014. Despite the lower priced set menu, my group decided to try a variety of dishes from the menu. Here is my rating: Food: The food was good, but nothing stood out as exceptional. I would give it a 3.5/5. Portion: The portion size was generous and I was very satisfied with the amount of food we received. I would rate it a 4/5. Liquor: I didn't have any alcohol this time, but I noticed they had a decent selection of liquor with at least 20 bottles and up to 30. I didn't see anything unique that couldn't be found in a typical liquor store. I won't rate this since I didn't try any drinks. Ambience: The atmosphere was romantic and cozy, with man...

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant and cleared my plate completely. The food was amazing and the staff were wonderful. I could easily say that's all you need to know, but I'll provide more details for those who are interested. The Cioppino dish was so delicious that I even enjoyed the tentacles. The seafood medley of prawns, halibut, squid, and clams in a flavorful broth was perfect for dipping bread. The risotto was creamy and delicious, and the complimentary meringue dessert was so good that I couldn't resist finishing it, despite being diabetic. It's clear that this place is run by a loving family who truly cares about the food they serve.

Portobello is definitely a hidden neighborhood treasure. My first visit was in March 2010 and I wasn't impressed at that time. The service was terrible, with a server who seemed inexperienced and made mistakes with our order. This left a bad impression on the food quality, especially since the item I received was something I don't typically enjoy. However, I recently revisited the restaurant and have been back multiple times since. The service has greatly improved and the food quality is outstanding, all at reasonable prices. Their pasta dishes are always flavorful and they offer an amazing creme brulee. Reserva una mesa ahora

Portobello Ristorante is a small Italian restaurant located on West Broadway that we have visited frequently in the past. We started our meal with the Fungo Portobello Gratinato ($12) - portobello mushrooms filled with crispy garlic croutons, fresh herbs, and served with a roasted red pepper sauce. Our main course was the Ossobuco Classico ($28) - a generous portion of tender veal shank braised with red wine, rosemary, carrots, celery, and served with risotto. All of the dishes were excellent, including the Chocolate Pistachio Torte dessert made with pecans from Sicily.

An Italian Gem. Been there two years in a row for our wedding anniversary. Love the place so much even took our work monthly dineout there even though our rule was to try someplace new so everyone could experience this place. Cute husband/wife ? run type restaurant with a gourmet flair. Price Fixe dinner is a great deal. LOVE LOVE LOVE the risotto piled with fresh seafood.

Lovely little Italian place. Excellent service- prompt, polite attentive. Shrimp app w/ garlic, butter spice was fine. Linguine al Vongole w/ 2 types of clams in a light white wine sauce was excellent. Ate solo while in YVR on business. With a glass of decent red wine $12) tip- $53. Reserva una mesa ahora
