Having worked in hospitality I can excuse most things. Having not been to this restaurant before, we booked a table for 4 for 6.30pm on a Friday night (based on its good reputation). At 7.55pm a young waitress came and TOLD us we had to move to another table as a party of six had a reservation at 8pm for the 4 seat table we were on. We were perplexed as there was no mention of seating sessions or time limits at the time of booking, nor when we arrived. When questioned, the waitress said "sorry there is nothing we can do as the other party has a booking for 6 people" to which we asked to see the manager (another young girl who was working the register). We explained that we would not have eat...
My wife and I have been to Positano 4 times now, usually with friends, and enjoyed every visit.The Pizza is reliably good and we have started to know our favourites.Service is always pleasant, sometimes a little slow but I can forgive that when they are "under the pump" as has been the case on two occasions. I personally wouldn't like to manage staff levels when you have very little idea sometimes of just how busy a Saturday night may be.In any case, as I say they are always pleasant and we always enjoy the interaction and the food.Usually staying too late and eating way too much.You can rely on Positano and will go home happy.
Poistano has become our 'local' when it comes to pizza and simple Italian food, both when we want to eat out and when we want to have a night in. Delivery is usually quick and with free local delivery.The staff is friendly and generally helpful, although it can get a bit busy at times, making the wait a little long (especially for the delivery). They have one or two special pizzas usually, which are often a little different o your normal pizzas.This restaurant is owned by the same people that run the BPO restaurant and the more upmarket Sevardi restaurant next door (from which the excellent tiramisu comes).
Had 3 large take away pizzas. Prawn, Vegetarian and Meat lovers.All three had burnt crusts and very chewy bases.The Prawn pizza has 5 prawns across 8 slices, had to search for toppings on the vegetarian pizza and the meat lovers simply had ham and no other meat.Its clear that either the chef couldn't care less for quality or was having an all round bad day. Either way, customers should get their money's worth. I will avoid this establishment. We chose to pick up based on a time provided. Yet the pizza's were not ready for another 15 minutes.

Having given them a break after some good and some bad pizzas thought I would give them another go to redeem themselves. They have moved into the ravello restaurant which was my first surprise. Opened the box to find a dry very cheesy pizza with very little sauce. Paid for all the cheese and no flavor. Have had better from the pizza section of woolworths. To top it off the lady at the register couldn't work out how to charge my card. Shame I had to pay
Just passes muster as a local restaurant for a mid week feed . Walk to it and save driving out of the suburb. Pizza way above average. Food and coffee good. Photos of Positano bring back fond memories of travels in Italy. Take a bottle of Chianti with you and re-live the Italian dream (well almost).
Service was slow but fabulous pizza. Good selection of classic pizzas and gourmet pizzas. Is very hot inside the restaurant on a warm evening. But there is a bench seat on the outside.
If you're looking for a really good, flavoursome but not heavy pizza in the suburbs around the Beecroft-Epping area, this is the place you're looking for.

We ordered a pick up meat pizza ,it was sloppy ,wet base,when I was waiting for the pizza though the restaurant looked full,lots of kids and families
A great local pizza shop in the Italian style. A good pizza range and the pastas snuck in from next door are excellent.
