"Stopped by here for some evening drinks as most places seemed to be closed on this public holiday evening! It’s located on Franklin Wharf and has some nice views from the wharf to the water. As we’re in Hobart, it’s all about the whisky and gin. In our case Gin Tonics as well as Lemon, Lime Bitters. Order up at the bar and find yourself a seat to enjoy the drinks at. Service is friendly and drinks made well so we were happy campers. There is indoor and outdoor seating but since it was a lovely night, we chose to sit outdoors."

A bar. A location. And surprisingly good food. We ate here in a rush. Almost deserted when we got here on a cold and wet Monday night. But got busier later. They have spent a lot of on the fit out and it deserves to succeed. The menu is designed around sharing. Staff really very good and happy to discuss beer recommendations and the bar food. We had Pork Bao spicy, tender pork and very delicate buns , Pot stickers served on a crisp batter pancake which tastes better than it sounds , Green beans with spicy pork Mince vaguely Szechuan and a big hit and some deep fried Calamari ok but screaming out for some aioli . Cost was 100 for 2 including a couple of pints of cold pale ale.

Post Street Social is one of the place that makes Hobart CBD “alive”, literally. As most of the restaurants close early, we decided to stop by this bar/restaurant. We had deep fried calamari, Korean fried chicken with cumin, and chicken burger. Like most of the food I’ve tried in Tassie, the food here were also mediocre and expensive. Service was indifferent. If I were the owner, I’d make sure my customers, especially the tourists, have the best impression of my business so that they could return. Well, not in this case. We were politely urged to “have the last bit of our food” so the waiter could clear out the table.
