I would keep silent if I lived near and wanted to protect Alain Pramil's eponymous little restaurant in the 3rd, tucked away obscurely although within hailing distance of Republique and the Square du Temple. Living across the city and with an abundance of other choices, however, I happily refer especially English-only visitors who are looking for character, atmosphere and a fine meal at a fine price -- and where authenticity is not sacrificed to bi-lingual hospitality.Specifically -- stone walls and exposed beams and unpretentious setting mix with cordial service in either language and menus in both -- at a value for full dinner of 33 euros and a modest and reasonable wine list. Two of us wer...

Although we were able to get a reservation on the day we were dining, it must have been the last available. Total seats are about 20 and every one was filled. We dined very close to our neighbors but it was never uncomfortable. The waiter welcomed us in and asked if we would like to be served in French or in English. We chose English and were impressed by his language skills. We later learned that his mother is British and father is American but he grew up here in France. We selected a tasting menu for a reasonable price that included a starter, main course and dessert. We drank rose champagne to start and a bottle of red with dinner and none of it broke the bank. The food was presented wond...

Planning to dine in Paris tends to raise my anxiety levels. It's such a wasted opportunity if the meal isn't up to expectations... but this is a good news story! Pramil is in the Upper Marais and was recommended by The Guardian travel section and it was a winner! It's a very small restaurant with a menu which included house smoked salmon with fennel and spinach, perfectly cooked John Dory ( saint Pierre in French!) with charred baby aubergine, white asparagus tips, oyster leaf salad and a lemon emulsion. Dessert? Raspberry millefeuille with Granny Smith apple and red pepper confit (it worked). Oh. Yum. Anxiety levels nicely abated. M.Pramil was a most attentive and professional restaurateur...

Pramil is a small restaurant with comfortably arranged tables that don't intrude on each other. Service is flawless and helpful, but the special dishes are the stars, On our evening, fresh pasta with white truffles was the special--and what could be better? There was a;lso a fresh fish (cod) which was also wonderful. Only warning--there is a marvelous cauliflower cake as an appetizer--but do not have it with truffle pasta unless you are a famished bear. I tried, but could not finish either . And then desserts were a beautiful temptation. The millefeuille with white peaches and ginger cream was not nearly as light as I hoped--just gorgeous and deliciously decadent. Better to have some fruit o...

This restaurant appears tiny, but there are additional tables at the rear, past the kitchen. We took lunch here, and were not disappointed. The half-English waiter was informal and chatty, but also respectful and helpful; nice guy! I started with prawns and ice plant (ficoide), which is a bit like a fleshy field salad and was a new one on me. It was O.K., if not dramatic. My wife's starter was also original and good - mackerel on fried zucchini on a base of light pastry. My main was a really good dish of calf sweetbread and turnip in a cream sauce, and my wife chose an excellent lamb gigot with all the trimmings. We drank a glass each of a decent house Bourgeuil, tap water and coffee. The me...

We dined at Pramil several years ago and were so impressed we returned last month. It remains one of our very favorite restaurants in Paris. We each had the 33 Euro prix fix menu and shared a bottle of wine. Each item was was perfectly prepared and delicious. One of our appetizers was a cream of white asparagus soup with foie gras ice cream. Wow! Never heard of foie gras ice cream before, and it was fantastic. We each had different fish dishes and both were excellent and filling. The desserts were excellent, also.Tip: make sure to reserve early, as the restaurant was turning guests away by 9:00 pm. Also, get good directions,as the restaurant is small and on an otherwise dark street.

This small, neighborhood-scale restaurant is every bit as good as the reviews make it out to be. Staff were welcoming and helpful - language was no barrier. The duck and rabbit dishes were wonderful. Plenty of wine choices by the glass, more by the bottle. The desserts worth making room for. We would return here in a heartbeat. It really is small; make a reservation so you won't miss out.

My daugther was lucky to get a reservation for 8 people when we arrived In Paris. The place though quite small is quite welcoming and cozy. The food was reasonably priced and the service was excellent. The food was excellent. This is my 4th visit of Paris and never had a french meal this good. I surely will put it in my never-to-miss list.

Came here on recommendation of our concierge. Don't get sat in the back - feels like a tomb. Our wines were accidentally spilled but no offer to refill. Rabbit tasted like dried chicken. Not impressed.
