Situated in a prestigious location next to the Town Hall Gardens, it’s like walking into a posh London or Bombay tea room with its highly decorative ceilings, plush comfy chairs, piano and soft music. It’s got a great menu with a good choice for breakfast as well as Indian food, pizzas and burgers etc. What it’s really famous for is it’s wide range of loose leaf teas and artisan coffees with cake. I was there for breakfast … Full Vegan Breakfast with Toast £9.50 Grilled vegan sausages and vegan bacon, organic scrambled tofu, organic baked beans, roast portobello mushroom and tomato with fresh spinach. I simply couldn’t fault it at all. Rooibos Tea £2.95. In loose leaf it’s prefect to accompany breakfast. Made from the red bush it has no tannins so it doesn’t get bitter. Letting it brew for a good 7 mins meant it brought out the woody notes to complement the sweetness and almost nuttiness of a perfect cuppa. Would I go back? Every year when I visit to watch the Snooker Shootout. Would I recommend? Having tried other places like Cosy Club, etc. it’s the perfect place for breakfast and afternoon tea.
