I ventured with my brother and his vegetarian girlfriend into the outskirts of Basel to try this newly re-opened restaurant. Now, I would suggest that you take this journey upon yourself only if you have a car, for the place is as in the middle of “nowhere” as it can be in the countryside of a Swiss city. Nevertheless, the short motorized trip is totally worth it. This formerly well known Sunday family restaurant, has now been taken over by local entrepreneurs and managed also by a local gourmand. The “nose to tail” and local/season products philosophy is well highlighted in the daily menus as in the served flavorous. We walked to Predigerhof from Bruderholz tram stop which is a lovely stroll across the fields. Food is sourced locally and the waiters are very knowledgeable. It's lovely to sit outside under the trees, however there was unfortunately a wasp nest somewhere in the garden which caused us significant discomfort. A lady at another table was stung by one of the wasps for which staff offered various remedies. However, given the price you pay and the quality of the food, I think they should have had pest control look at the wasp nest rather than offer you remedies after the event.
Service excellent, food very high quality, locally sourced, beautifully presented and wonderful flavor combinations. A delicious house aperitif and very good wine recommendations. Every course delighted us. We sat outside with views out across the fields and to the hills. A prime location to watch the sunset and a perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you Predigerhof for making our wedding anniversary so special.
We were a small, multi lingual family gathering and this was the perfect venue for our get together. We had a good dinner perfect service (from equally multilingual Ranja who looked after us perfectly) and really appreciated the location. It's amazing to be in the countryside and yet so near to a big town.

We enjoyed a delightful dinner in this nose-to-tail restaurant. Romantic setting, fun outdoor bowling alley. Farm animals can be visited, playground still in the making. Nice room for groups. Best to reserve.
Best place to spend with Friends and Family. We had spent an evening with friends for Dinner and we loved Fondue, Pizza and starters offered here. Only thing is reachability is only by Car.
The atmosphere was very familiar and cozy, the service recommendations were all spot-on, and the food was also very good. We had a great evening!
Very fine cuisine, very friendly service, nice ambience. Easy to reach, both on 4 wheels, by bike, but also on foot. Fair prices.
