This place probably deserves around 3.5 stars. As always, it depends on what you're looking for. You get what you put in, and in this case, a hard-working gentleman deserves a retirement filled with entertainment and perhaps a lively companion. This review reflects my experience as a daytime visitor. While Pub 231 might feel a bit rustic, that doesn’t mean the people are unfriendly; rather, life here simply moves at a more relaxed pace. Decided to try out the Pub 231- always saw a lot of cars there as I was stopped in traffic on telegraph..go figure. Sadly to say i wasn't too impressed. Went in during a Cardinals game, the place was basically empty and we didnt get the most friendly greeting. Got a buffalo chicken wrap... maybe add some more side options. I asked if there were fries because i didnt see them on the menu and the waitress told me SHHH we will make them for you but we only have one fryer so don't tell anyone you got them here...ahh? what? excuse me? I think it should be offered or not offered. Maybe its a new spot and just needs to work out the kinks. Ill give it another try.
Live music was nice but the bar is small so it was overwhelming at times. Menu was decent, a couple pictures would of been nice. It wasn't cheap $9 each) and the fries were lacking. Such a weird bar. Nice staff but way too small to pack people in to serve food. Couple of tvs with the game on. A lot like The Sports Pub down the street. I'd give it a 2.5/5 because the bar was decent but not enough to warrant a return trip. Better off at Applebee's
The staff isn 't especially friendly and the food is pretty meh . I felt like when me and my group walked in, everyone looked at us as if to say What are you doing here!? Because we weren 't regulars. Our waitress was on her phone and talking to a man at the bar the whole time, as well. Overall, my opinion of this establishment is not great.

Nice time, small place with small menu but I guess without fryers its hard to have much of the apps. Its a good thing not to be offered fried food everyone once in awhile. Staff was not very friendly and bartender hated her job and life.
The food was excellent, and the service from Jazz was fantastic. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I tried the Philly steak sandwich, and it was delicious, especially when paired with the white queso on the side.
We stop in often, with and without our kids. Very friendly staff and great beer specials. All of the food is standard pub fare, but very good standard pub fare. The very best fried chicken bites around!
This is exactly the kind of place I enjoy. It's not overly fancy, but it has a cozy, homey feel. The atmosphere is friendly, and the bar food is excellent. I can't wait to return!

First time here. Good brunch. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Good variety of pastries. Didn't try a mimosas but others around us said they were very good.
First time here. Had Cheese Garlic Bread for an appetizer, yummy! Deluxe pizza was great. And beer specials on a Friday night!
