Pub Down Under - Reservar una mesa

After a day of driving and sight seeing ended up at the adjacent Holiday Inn so as to catch the early morning ferry to Nova Scotia. Being tired, we decided to try to closest eating option which was this pub. Don't be put off by the location -- it appears to be inside the parking garage at the back of the hotel! It's not fancy, and not particularly attractive inside, but it makes up for it in being friendly and welcoming. We had simple fare, but it was good. When we asked about how to get around a detour to the ferry, we thought the bar staff members and patrons at the bar would gladly drive us there if we wanted!

This is not fancy but it's better than we thought it would be. It's a friendly pub in a commercial location so it's not like a local pub or a trendy down town pub. It's near the Holiday Inn and IBM. Simply pub food, good service. Just don't expect a gastro pub experience - it is not that. We just had a chicken salad and it was very fresh but a simple salad. No gourmet greens. Nice merlot. Happy travellers.

We were staying at the adjacent hotel and noticed the sign pointing down - lol - Pub Down Under! Very good pub - good wings, a band was playing - nice atmosphere. Our son lives in SJ and we'll definitely be back!

Tripadvisor says we should try this place..we did. It is a bit costly. The food was good though. The crème brulee was THE BEST!!! The staff friendly..the atmosphere was quiet and nice.

We stumbled on this pub while staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door. The food was bar food - but the music by DEL WORDEN and friends was great and lively.
