The staff, mainly Latino women, didn’t engage with me about my spice preferences; they seemed more focused on their phones than on customer service. Overall, it just felt disorganized. The chicken paratha was underwhelming—containing only a few pieces of plain chicken without any flavorful spices. It was quite frankly unappetizing. When I voiced my concerns, all they offered was a 30% discount on my bill, which didn’t make up for the poor experience. There was a review claiming that the lamb shank was incredibly tender, so much so that it should simply fall off the bone. This was backed up by the fact that it was served with just a butter knife. However, it was anything but tender; in fact, it was so tough that the butter knife could barely make a mark on the sinewy meat. I ended up having to ask for a steak knife, and it took two requests before it finally arrived. Indian cuisine is one of my favorites, and South Pasadena is a neighborhood I love. Not busy at all on a Tuesday evening. The manager Bobby served us, and he was really chatty and knowledgeable about the food, and talking with him was a delight. The food was very good. It's not too spicy, but still very flavorful and appropriately hot temperature-wise. Would recommend the lamb shank and chicken tikka masala. Please tell your staff to stop wearing their aprons to the bathroom. I watched 3 employees including my waiter do it while I was there for my anniversary and one of them even wiped his hands on the apron as he was coming out. This is a fantastic spot for lunch in South Pasadena. They offer an excellent lunch combo/special that is definitely worth trying. Everything is incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning—perfectly balanced and not overly spicy!

They have nailed the perfect spice level, and the food is absolutely amazing again! I do wish it were a bit more affordable, though.
