Oh my goodness, I am in the area to attend a family wedding and checked out the local reviews to find a good Indian meal. This place came up well so I ordered a takeaway . We had chicken bhuna (should have been chicken tikka) and also chicken tikka jalfrezi, as well as keema rice. The chicken tasted odd, this was consistent across both the standard chicken and the tikka. Also the keema rice was bland. There is no way we could eat the curry dishes, they were basically inedible. I think the chicken was low quality and old which contributed to the odd taste. I rang the restaurant straight away and the response was 'well I have been selling it all day and no complaints '. My request for a refund...
I think some of the reviews have exaggerated slightly this was a pretty normal Indian restaurant serving a good choices of dishes. The restaurant itself wasn't particularly welcoming very tatty exterior and inside lacks decoration or much atmosphere. Not helped by one of the waiters who really didn't want to smile. Food was saved a bit slow but was hot and fresh. Dishes were ok but if I'm being critical a little oily and it's the first time I've had to add my own seasoning to Indian food. Prices were pretty standard perhaps slightly high I've paid less for an Indian meal in London, but they did have set dinners which were better value. Excellent quality takeaway as always. Starter of onion baji, large and crispy with delicious mint yogurt which we shared, for mains we had chicken tikka jalferezi which was very very tasty, gorgeous chunks of white chicken breast which melted in the mouth, peppers and onions in a perfectly spicy sauce Chicken tikka dhansak, sweet and sour with lentils and absolutely mouthwatering. We shared a vegetable pilau rice and a plain naan with popadoms. Could not fault this generously portioned takeaway and we will continue to support this restaurant. The staff are always super friendly.
We ended up in Seaton Burn on a Sunday evening when most places had already closed. Despite the website indicating that Rakhi only provided take-out, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a fantastic meal at an affordable price.

We have consistently enjoyed delicious meals at Rakhi, but tonight's dinner was truly exceptional. Whenever we return home to Yorkshire, we always make sure to indulge in a Bradford curry, but Rakhi is now our top choice.
Absolutely superb we have been lucky enough to eat in some of the finest Indian restuarants in London and in india and this was fantastic but at a fraction of the price. We enjoyed every dish on our Birthday celebration
The food was excellent, made with fresh ingredients. It was better than most takeout options we've tried. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning.
We arrived and given our table immediately , we all had curry but different sauces one prawns one chicken and one lamb,very good portions ,great service.
