Update 5/20/22 Went today and am happy to say rude girl is gone! I hope she won't come back this summer. The young lady at the counter welcomed me, nade eye contact and smiled. Manager/owners always a pleasant woman. I felt really bad about leaving the previous review, but was just so shocked by the attitude of girls at the counter. She was there herself, so she probably thought she didn't have to be nice! I loved this place, but after today will never go to this again. The woman who is usually there (manager? She has blond hair) was always kind. I went today and was greeted by this girl with dark hair, who looked like I was interrupting her TikTok Stardom. She melts me and when I asked for...
A bunch of inexperienced girls run the counter, busy chatting and goofing out, then actually jobs when there is a long line. I have soft nap and it tasted tasteless, the next day I and my whole family woke up from 6 with stomach pain. I vomit. Bad service, bad ice. Totally terrible experience. Ralphs at Massapequa Park is much better.
I love this place. Coming from NJ, Rita's was a local favorite for water ice. Ralph's definitely provides a step up, or at the very least an alternative, with it's cream ice. The Twister is my favorite, combining the ice with the custard/ice cream. Great balance and selection of flavors. The staff was friendly and patient.
Very good icecream. I had two scoops one cotton candy and the other black cherry. Great combination. I also really enjoyed the vintage serving style. You approach the counter and eat the icecream on a large bench outside which offers great people watching. I only wish I had another stomach to have tried even more flavors!
