We (me, my wife, our five kids and any significant others or friends who are tagging along) go for burgers on the 26th of every month to different locations around the GTA, to celebrate my son's finishing chemotherapy on March 26 2013. He's clean and clear, thanks for asking, and this monthly celebration is very special for us. This was our 38th burgerversary. We got there around 11:30am on a weekday so we didn't have to wait for a table on the patio, but it filled up by about 12:30pm. Once we got our food, there were just so many bees maybe wasps, but I can't always tell the difference). We were there for about an hour and at least 11 bees/wasps came to buzz around us and land on our food. It wasn't just us, but the table beside us had 2 ladies who switched tables to get further away from the flower planter, but that didn't solve the bee/wasp problem so they asked to get their food to go so they could eat in the car. This place has high wait times normally pre covid) so I decided to come here for late brunch today on my day off Monday) to try it out. They have both dine in patio option, did walk in just after 1pm and there was no wait time. This was my first time here, we got the Burger Benny recommend the chorizo sausage with spicy hollandaise sauce, it was so good. We also got a loaded plate from feature menu which was good too. The Nutella shake my bf got was probably my favorite, so delicious! On the downside, I struggled to rate this 3 or 4 because the eating experience was not good. We placed an order with Uber Eats, but encountered several issues. Only part of our order was delivered and after multiple attempts to resolve the issue, we were told to pick up the remaining food from the restaurant. Despite being promised that the food would be cooked fresh, we were met with defensive and rude behavior from the manager, who blamed the error on the driver. Uber Eats partially refunded our money, but the experience was still disappointing. The manager's disrespectful attitude and the poor quality of the food we received have left us with no desire to return to this restaurant. I used to eat regularly at the former Japanese restaurant here (now the closest option is Kori/ Sushi 3307 Bayview-Cummer). I found the service fine but rather slow at Ramona's, even though the only other customers seemed to be a flow of takeout (pickup) orders. Ontop of the regular wait, they messed up my order, so I had to wait longer for my lunch. I would possible return one day for breakfast (for now I just order at Bagel Nash, owners of Le Delice right outside in the plaza concourse), but not any time soon. The deep fried food and burgers were good, but don't expect trimmings at Ramona's for free. I paid for every alteration to my menu-order, though they were for reasons of allergies.
My family and I went to this restaurant for mothers day, and we sat in the indoor balcony area of the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was great even though we were a larger party. I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Overall this is a excellent small restaurant for breakfast and brunch.
