Rancho Alegre (authentic Mexican Food) In Des Mo

Let me start by saying, the food has always been great. Wish we lived closer. LOL, but the service is religiously slow and unresponsive (you can set your watch by it). However, I see they hired at least one new girl who was awesome. That’s how service should always be. Honey, you earned them 5-stars across the board. Hope the others learn. Anyway, back to the food, love it!!!!! We’ve tried several dishes and they’ve all been tasty. If you’re in the neighborhood and don’t mind the wait (not because of a line), you won’t be disappointed. Oh, the peanuts and sriracha sauce you see in the photo came on the side.

I have been here a few times and it is clean, the staff is friendly. The food has always been good. My only gripe is they need to UPDATE their prices on the menu!! If someone is on a budget and planning to spend x amount and go off menu prices they would fall short. For example my order from their menu INSIDE restaurant which is same as the pictures here posted! Per the menu my meal would have been $20.95 plus tax, instead it was $24.97 pre tax. So please update your menu prices. Other than that I will really be going back!

Always GREAT, but today, they were busy with several larger parties, and the quality of what is normally delicious was affected. The egg rolls were cold and very greased. They apparently shook the red pepper a little too fast and ruined the Chicken Basil as it was too seasoned hot to eat. The waitress did a good job, taking our order and making sure we had water and extra napkins. Thank you for your great service.

I absolutely love this restaurant, it is one of my favorite Mexican places. The flavor is very authentic and the staff is always smiling and friendly. I used to adore their 7 Seas soup, it is the best seafood soup I've ever had. Now that I am a vegetarian, I highly recommend their Veggie Sopes (without beans), they are simply perfect. The staff is lovely, I highly recommend the food!

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the prices were very reasonable. The sopes were some of the best I have ever tasted. They also serve multiple salsas with their homemade chips. Overall, the dining experience was authentic and delicious.

I have been dining at Nut Pob for over 20 years. Whenever I make it back home, it’s top of the places I have to visit in Des Moines. Thanks for the GREAT food over the years!!

There have been 10 plus times that I have called in a to go order and they have literally just forgot to make it. The food is amazing every time however.
