Today I had the opportunity to visit Rancho Mateo Elizabeth and my experience was the following: The person who served us took the drink order and along the way we ordered some empanadas and a “chicharrón ceviche” which is called ceviche niel as an appetizer, something simple and didn't taste like anything, the lemon was conspicuous by its absence, then we waited for a good For a while and they didn't take our order for the main dishes, we had to ask another girl to please let the waiter know that we wanted to order. We ordered rice with chicken which had a strange, unpleasant taste of a bad saffron, not really good, also an overbelly that was harder than a week without meat with a machetero...
If I could record all 0 stars then I would! Just had lunch today, and something hard in the dish chipped an upper tooth on my first bite. I asked the server for the manager, and Jhon Leon was of no help. He said the only thing he could do was take the meal off my bill!! That doesn't correct my chipped tooth!! He continued thst sometimes there could be something hard in the beans, but no resolution in helping with matters since I'll have to see my dentist. It was horrible that they made me feel like 1. As if I were lying, and 2. Did nothing to make matters better!!
Camilo provided outstanding service during our visit. We dine at many restaurants in Essex County, but we always return to Rancho Mateo because the service is consistently friendly and impeccable, the food is authentic, and the atmosphere is lively. Camilo truly enhanced our experience this time. Thank you!
The logistics are excellently organized, and the food is amazing. They have great music playing, and since the place is always packed, they don’t take reservations. It’s first-come, first-served. In my experience, the food comes out quickly, and the staff is very friendly and attentive.

I ordered a bandeja paisa for delivery. They sent me a raw pork belly inside my bandeja paisa, when I called they didn’t care and just treated me like sheet. Never again, I used to buy in this place like 3 times per week. Good job ?? that lady on the phone was so rude, no manners.
Despite the pleasant ambiance, the quality of service did not meet our expectations. We were given an incorrect order and and drinks amd on top of that we had to wait for an extended period to receive the correct one.
My husband and I ordered tostones with guacamole. They were crispy, but the tostones came with clumps of rice stuck to them. I'm not sure how that happened.
Great food, service and fun atmosphere. A little loud it trying to talk but the good live music was a great touch.
